“In today’s economy, raw materials are more expensive, labor costs are increasing and profit improvement is the ultimate corporate goal, which can only be achieved by working smarter, applying proven expense control skills and implementing “best practice” techniques. I look forward to using my skill set to improve your corporate performance” - TWH

Selected Professional Accomplishments

Production

• Built and led an experimental “Self Directed Work Team,” coordinated all development, training, manufacturing, packaging and shipping processes for a new product line which served as a model for the development of additional self directed teams.

• Planned, produced and shipped three defense programs ahead of schedule. Sound planning techniques and self directed work team achieved successful results resulting in Military commendation.

• Improved Government rating of company’s Small Business Program to “Very Successful” after a nine year period of only “Acceptable” ratings. Extensive research of regulations and education of responsible parties led to improved rating in just 12 months.

• Successfully created a Kan Ban system for a continuous- flow wire drawing process. Reduced the need for production schedules at every drawing station down to one at the final product stage.

• Organized a company-wide rally to support a local sheltered workshop’s self-sufficiency, off-loaded appropriate jobs and increased government small business program numbers: a win/win situation.

Materials Management

• Re-implemented the use of a previously rejected MRP system (an investment of $2M) by winning back the confidence of disgruntled users, demonstrating the system’s potential, correcting data previously entered and ensuring proper entry of new data.

• Developed a new process for weighting down test baggage for airport conveyor testing. This process quadrupled the life of the test bags.

• Developed a comparative program in order to determine the “total cost of acquisition” when sourcing new components. The program saved over $75,000 in the first 12 months.

Inventory Control

• Reduced physical inventory variance from $500K to less than $5K in less than 18 months by developing new inventory controls, implementing cycle counting procedures, training staff on new processes and enforcing adherence to new guidelines.

• Increased average level (from 50% to 97%) of inventory accuracy in 12 months by improving location numbering, implementing a rigorous cycle counting program, and improving transaction training.

• Brought control and 95% inventory accuracy to the MRO warehouse for the sprawling 23 acre General Dynamics facility in De Land, FL.
