Driven and Lead a team of 4 Test Engineers in San Jose, Ottawa and India in Regression/Sanity testing for CRS and GSR products for more than a year.
Scheduled multiple TOI (Transfer of Information) for new test engineers to run Sanity, Analyze failures and debug. Created a Wiki page to help them and development engineers.
Keep the Development managers and test managers and mainly Release managers informed of all defects and attended daily bug scrub meetings to help close on open defects. This helps get a clean image without any baseline issues for the test team.
Proposed improvements in Regression/Automation and supported during the updates.

Project: FIT (Feature Interaction testing) for L3 features in IOX 3.6 - GSR (Gigabit Switching Router)
Test planning for all supported L3 features and Line Cards/SPAs in 3.6.
The intention of this testing is to define a scale profile with all supported L3 features in single test bed either with IP core or MPLS core.
Covered tests with MPLS core and focused on Channellized SPAs with features such as, QoS, MLPP, MFR, LFI, HA, infra testing while having more features in the box such as ipv4/ipv6, MVPN, AToM etc.
Project: Testing for L2VPN (AToM), Frame Relay and 40Gig Fabric in IOX 3.4 – GSR:
Worked on L2VPN (AToM) project for IOX and with dot1q, qinq and qinany. Setting up 5 routers topology test bed, Acceptance Testing and development testing and reporting.
Frame-relay feature testing for the IOX. Responsible for Topology design, test plan document and review and Test bed setup with MPLS core which has 5 routers and test equipments to send & receive traffic (Agilent and Ixia testers) and test execution and reporting.
Lead for Switch Fabric testing. Prepared detailed Engineering Commit(EC) slides for 40gig Fabric and presented the EC to the management and set this as the model EC for the all the new features in 3.4 IOX release. Responsibilities included project planning, resource planning and sharing including person and hardware, test plan, execution planning and execution of test cases and status collection and reporting of the test progress and follow up on issues raised by the team of 3 engineers.
Challenging as this was the first IOX project I worked. It involves understanding the IOX architecture and understands the differences of IOS and IOX.
Mentored many team members for the new platform to bring them up to speed.
Project: Project Lead and Testing, VPLS (dot1q, QinQ and qinAny)), Multicast QoS:
Project lead for the 32SY1 VPLS/ATOM QinQ project with 3 person team. In spite of last minute notice of this lead role, quickly prepared the test plan and started the testing on the proposed start date. Project assignment, test execution, monitoring the progress and status collection and reporting.
Multicast QoS: Test Planning, Test execution, Defect filing and tracking, bug verification, Test reporting. Worked closely with management on escalating Show Stopper issues so as to complete the project in time.
This Project was challenging because the lead position was informed very late in the test start time. I was given only 2 days to start the testing. With very little time, I optimized the project planning and shared the test plan writing among the team and helped everyone to bring their test bed for this project and started the test in time without any delays. Well appreciated project by the management.
Project: Working with Customer defects::
Worked with customer (AT&T) raised defects to work with the customers and account team to repro and help DEs to resolve the issue. Worked in many Show Stopper type of customer bugs and actively helped setting up the network as in customer site and once repro, actively work with DEs in finding the root cause of the issue and resolve it.
Worked with Telmex customer issue when they had to prove the SNMP polls and rates in GSR.
China Telecom customer needed help with validating new SFPs that failed in Customer site. Had setup the router topology locally and validated the SFPs in different line cards with deferent images and saved.
