Programming and documentation in support of various projects.
* Provided Mainframe and Dashboard Power Builder support, which resulted in approximately 75 hours
of CPU and RUN time savings. Managed SQL code execution, within Mainframe programs and within
Power Builder applications, to reduce CPU and RUN times. Used Cobol and Easytrieve to facilitate
required additions of and or changes to programs for problems encountered by users.
* Assisted in successful implementations of Demand Forecast and Management System applications, part
of a suite of RETEK software solution applications, primarily using Cobol, Easytrieve and DB2-SQL.
Installation of the Forecasting application resulted in cost savings of $3m, and maintenance costs
of $20k per year.
* Aided in testing and debugging Advanced Inventory Planning joint application venture between
Office Depot and Retek. Tasks consisted of using Cobol and Easytrieve to formulate data, FTP to
transfer data to the Oracle database server, Shell scripts, to (FTP) get data from the Mainframe,
and to run server batch jobs to prepare data for the Oracle platform.
* Maintained useable code via Changeman DS software for RETEK applications.
* Finalized and completed business requirements, functional and technical design, coding, testing,
debugging for the Purchase Order conversion as part of a Purchasing sub track of the Oracle
business suite of applications.
