BASIC FUNCTION:

*Repairs, Alters, fabricates and installs steel structural members such as shell and deck

plates, bulkheads, frames, mooring, bit chocks, derrick boom, engine and machinery

foundations, etc. in accordance with drawings, specifications and standard procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Reads and interprets blueprints, plans and work drawing.

*Lay – outs and fabricates parts by cutting off plates, shapes and forms metal bay rolling, bending and heating using mold and templates as guide.

*Marks, burns and flame cut work by using oxy – acetylene gas.

*Joins and fits work by using standard jigs and temporary fasteners to hold parts and place.

*Tack welds plates, shapes, chips and bracket prior to permanent welding.

*Install packing, gasket, liner and other structural accessories and members.

*Cuts – off temporary fasteners and grinds – off remaining pieces and gas notch after welding.

*Conducts air hydraulic test tanks for pressure test and inspection of leaks.

*Maintains cleanliness of tools, machines and equipment used and performs minor maintenance on said machines. Reports to assistant Production Supervisor for repair of these equipment.

*Observe safely measures and proper precautions in the performance of work.

BASIC FUNCTION:

*Pre heats, welds and gauges steel structural and non – structural members using annual electric Arc Welding, Automatic submerge Arc Welding, tig. Welding (argon – gas) mig welding (CO2 gas) in accordance with drawings specification and standard welding procedures.
