EXPERIENCE
ATT MOBILITY
Network Planning & Support-UTRAN - Pleasanton, CA USA 4/2009…2/2012
• Worked on the 3G UTRAN ETTCs project in migrating TDM & ATM circuits to Ethernet. Extensively worked on EDP’s/CTS/IWOS/Granite & Granite Works.
UMTS Management & Planning Engineer
• AT&T’s Western Region faced severe competition and needed to improve forecasting ATM/MSN (ALU & Tellabs) equipment needs. Created innovative prediction model, enabling more accurate estimations of quarterly market demands. This enabled more cost-effective CAPEX planning as well as greater customer stakeholder satisfaction.
• Implemented and accounted for a granite audit for all equipment & circuits with the help of field technicians for the Alltel sites acquired in the Mountain West Region.
T-MOBILE
Senior Network Engineer – Lead (contract) Concord, CA USA 3/2006…4/2009
• Lead Engineer for the RIP transmission/transport team ensuring all designs, scripts/tests are in place before the BSC RIP to the Alcatel Media Gateway. Employed automation to slash projected downtime. Minimized overall impact on customer
• Worked as a team lead on the UMTS project – Proposed & streamlined testing process for 3500 UMTS circuits for Phase-1, quickly completing the $8M project.
• Led a team to replace Alcatel legacy transport with Tellabs 5500. Devised methodology and wrote a MOP on how to wrap the Titan equipment into the network (saving downtime) & unwrap by reordering transport from the LEC to the Titan
Network Planning & Support
• T-Mobile’s buy-out of AT&T’s CA/NV network offered huge buyout if the operations were optimized. The project was to collapse 43 MTSO locations to 24 to reduce OPEX
• Prepared/executed a Plan & Scope of Work for the Collapse project, improving the collapsing site timeframe by 3 months, thus saving $150 Thousand on each location. Prepared & implementing a methodology in moving traffic out of the collapsing location in an orderly manner for the equipment to be decommissioned.
• Helped BSC Rehome & transport team to find existing transport(bandwidth) thus optimizing & reducing CAPEX instead of ordering more transport for re-homes
• Worked on introducing new technologies & equipment at anchor locations to accommodate collapsing sites with vendors like Alcatel, Tellabs, and Ericsson.
ATT/CINGULAR WIRELESS
Network Design/Provisioning Engineer – Team Lead Pleasanton, CA 8/03 – 3/06
• E911 compliance had to be established to complete the $2.5B deal of selling the CA/NV network to T-Mobile. Changed DSO grooming process from transport to the switch/BSC, in addition to preparing a test plan to quickly achieve compliance thus saving significant OPEX.
• Worked on the redesign of the packet core network & tested in bringing up the Gb links to the SGSN.
Comm-Soft Inc.
Network Support Manager Edison, NJ 10/02 – 5/03
• Supervised a team to implemented vendor equipment like Cisco 3500/7x00 switches/routers, Alcatel 3600/3645/7470 switches, etc. into customer network.
