PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Thyssenkrupp Stainless Steel
Calvert, Alabama 2008-2011
Process Engineer Specialist
Assign to work with the Austrian OEM Engineering firm in the design, engineering, construction and operation of the acid neutralization plant and the acid regeneration plant for the Stainless Steel plant. Provided routine support to the team and to others department. I’ve worked on chemical problems, mechanical integrity failure and operation of the process. Oversee the creation of the Process safety Management with the coordination of a PSM Consultant. Involve in risk-based inspection, root cause analysis, and process hazard analysis reviews. Understand of chemical process and provided materials recommendations for new and maintenance construction including chemical and mechanical specifications. Set limits for process variables to keep in control without any upgrades.
Key Achievements:
Developed SOP and chemical control documents for the neutralization plant.
Liaison between the OEM Engineering firm and my company on the constructions, engineering operation and process of the chemical plant.
Review the OEM engineering drawing to ensure that it meet American industry standards and regulations, and is consistent with the project objectives of safety, operability, reliability and cost effectiveness and it comply with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
Upgraded the engineering PID drawing to prevent the formation of hexavalent chromium in the neutralization plant.
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise functions on activities and advise and inform engineering management on physical plant matters and problem areas.
Experience utilizing fully integrated business system, such as SAP or similar business system
Knowledge of EHS programs which included incident and corrective action reports.

Process Chemical and Quality Manager
Project/process management and operation of the three chemical plants. This regenerated acid is being used at the manufacturing of Carbon Steel. Work with the Austrian OEM Engineering firm in the construction of the two acid regeneration plants. Managed the chemical manufacturing operation laboratory, process safety, mechanical integrity of the equipments, quality control and developed the SOP for the operation of the chemical and powder process. Set limits for process variables to maintain control of the process. Ensure and drive compliance with the domestic regulatory and international standards and requirements. Administrate problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, team building skills and problem prevention to the employees. Implement the environmental and process safety management during construction.
Key Achievements:
Ability to drive capital and maintenance projects from initial concept through the capital and maintenance processes to project completion.
Plans, develops, and implements projects and methods from concept to follow-up to optimize utilization of plant and equipment and ensure the safety of the employees.
Developed a new metal compound, from conception to the finish product, to replace the carbon electrode in a glass furnace. The pilot plant was done in Vienna, Austria between my company and a major aluminum company in coordination with a major European research company.
Developed a new chemical powder and engineered the construction of the powder process. This process is still in use today by an auxiliary company.
Implement the ISO 9000:2000 Series and maintain it for 10 years. Also a trained ISO auditor. Managed quality systems are effective in fully meeting all customer requirements for quality, service and delivery.
Ensure effective systems for process control, inspection, testing, and documentation control are in place and followed.
Participates in contract planning, project planning, execution, and organization strategy sessions with domestic and foreign companies and professional.
Consult scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to customers, environmental programs and foreign industries.
ATI Alldyne
Huntsville, Alabama 1978-1998
Chemical Process Engineer
Started as a Quality Control Chemist working in the laboratory and I progress to supervising the Instrumentation Lab. Then from here I worked as Chemical process Engineer with the responsibilities included project management technical operations of the APT Crystallization plant. Supervise the incoming of raw materials; recycle tungsten metal and concentrates ores. Identifies, analyzes and recommends actions to correct design and process failures. Evaluate the initial materials and/or engineering change requests for product specification compliance, assuring the planning timelines correspond to the pre-series production and start of production.
Key Achievements:
Worked on the APT Crystallization plant using a pilot plant and eventually the construction of the chemical plant.
Approve project design documents, including design drawings, specifications, and datasheets, as per designated approval authority and project procedures
Knowledge of the equipments, layout, capabilities and limitations, and safety measures necessary in chemical manufacturing.
Managed the quality control program at the Huntsville facility.
Supervised and maintained the control of radioactive material and the shipment of this hazardous material to the Utah radioactive landfill.
Worked with the Austrian engineers at the mining site in the development of the tungsten ore concentrates process.
