***** ** **** **** #**, Lake Forest, CA
I graduated from the Faculty of Engineering in 1989, Alexandria University, with Over 22 years of Engineering, Construction and Managerial experience in glazing projects. Prior to joining Heinaman Contract Glazing, Lake Forest, CA in the spring of 2007 I worked as a senior professional engineer for ASI "Advanced Structures Inc." a design build firm in Marina Del Rey, CA specializing in innovative structures such as glass clad cable net walls. And prior to ASI I served as the project manager for various glazing projects throughout the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia with different companies such as Folcra-Beach “Abu Dhabi” and Alma Glass Co. “Jeddah”, My professional experience also includes management of a glass factory (Double glazing, Lamination, Sand blasting, Glass bending) in the UAE. I did several projects with both conventional aluminum curtain walls as well as the new and more advanced structural frameless cable supported glazing systems. I am proficient with 3-D Structural modeling of complex structures using various software such as SpaceGass, StaadPro, Strand7, Sap2000,Timberline, Archwind, Enercalc, Auto Cad 2011, ATBlast, Wingard PE and MP, THERM, MS Project, Excel and Word. I have also been an ASCE member for many years and also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of South California.
My educational background focused in Civil, Structural Engineering and the analysis of geometrically non-linear structures of complex geometry that require iterative computational methods.

Sr. Engineer
May 2001-February 2007
Sr. Engineer responsible for the design and engineering of building projects,
Responsible for the engineering and design of geometrically complex structures typically clad in glass and composed of structural steel sections or structural steel cables. Required to work within a small design team composed of architects/designers and a project manager.
Responsibilities:
Sizing of steel members in accordance to 2005 AISC codes for LRFD and ASD design, section and elevation engineering drawings, writing, compiling and issuing engineering reports documenting structural member design calculations and associated member connection details and fastenings, derivation of applicable design loads in accordance to IBC, ASCE and UBC codes, technical assistance/trouble shooting for solving complex problems associated with structural analysis computer programs, peer review of junior engineer calculations, finite element analysis of glass panels and associated supporting elements/castings, filing and management of paperwork, liaising with clients and architects, checking geometry and dimensional tolerances from drawings, Analysis, design, fabrication and installation of tensile structures.
Key Projects with ASI:
Casino Morongo Port Cosher, Cabazon, California Award winning
ASI was responsible for the design, engineering and fabrication of Structural steel Entrance canopy and associated structural supporting elements. The canopy hangs in the air 200 feet from the ground to the ground to maximize the open-plan space while minimizing the amount of supporting elements required.
Van Nuys Airport Facility, Van Nuys, California
ASI was responsible for the design, engineering and fabrication of a PTFE membrane canopy and associated structural supporting elements. The canopy hangs in the air 20 feet form the ground from two horizontal beams that cantilever from a pair of 50 feet vertical columns to maximize the open-plan space while minimizing the amount of supporting elements required.
Weehawken Ferry Terminal, New Jersey, New York
As for Van Nuys, ASI was responsible for the full scope of the design, engineering and fabrication of a PTFE membrane canopy. The design and detailing of the canopy was carefully orchestrated such that it was possible for all the structural steel and membrane elements to be packed and transported by truck from CA to New York, and then erected in the field on a pre-existing concrete pier surrounded on all sides by water.
