Summary of Job Description
Stacks and piles finished goods to their correct containers and prepares them for shipment using various equipments for packaging while following specific set of standards and requirements. Other responsibilities include cleaning and preparing the containers before placing items and then checks if the containers and items are free of damage or defects. Verify if the items pulled out of the packaging are correct. Packers fill out several forms and papers that will record measurement and weight, product counts, while keeping track of the inventory. After packing, they seal and label each of the containers properly then move the completed packages for loading. Some packers are particularly in charge of machines that package items. The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.
