OHL - Senior Operations Manager 2007 - 2011

OHL is one of the largest 3PLs in the world, with 130 distribution centers in the United States providing integrated global supply chain management solutions including transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and import and export services.

• Was a key manager for opening new buildings and customer start-ups. Insured all TI was allocated, building codes were met and infrastructure was kept to deadlines to prevent delays for customers go live. Experience creating and achieving Account/Building Budgets.

• Mentored new and existing Managers on Customer/Employee relations, assisted in correcting accounts that had continued failures. Increased Contribution Margins on all accounts overseen through process changes, personnel changes and methodology.

• Managed accounts such as Apple Computers where I increased profitability by 200% from -1.2 million to 988k in 12 months. I put in cost savings initiatives for all account by using SWOT analysis and lean Six Sigma methodologies.

• Selected to start up the Hilti tools account within a new facility in less than 30 days, which was brought in under budget, including training new employees, plus performed two additional account start-ups within the same period.

• Transferred to the Walmart.com account in Indianapolis to improve productivity, customer relations and employee morale which was completed in 3 months. Operated as the senior manager over the Sysco foods, Tea Forte and Fererro Rocher accounts which required ambient and climate controlled environments.

Gilbert West Logistics - Account Manager (PCE) 2007 - 2007

Gilbert West is a subsidiary of the Maersk family with distribution centers in Chino, California and New Jersey.

• Led all aspects of accounts from office to shipments on the floor.

• Created new SOP and Standards for all staff in performing daily duties. Created standards to lower handling cost per unit.

• Worked with account and facility P&L’s. Acted as facility Safety Coordinator to implement safety procedures and accountability.

• Increased inventory accuracy productivity while leveraging my relationship with Wal-Mart and Target to save the customer relationship with Polaroid Consumer Electronics.

Pacific Coast Warehouse - Operations Manager 2005 - 2007

Pacific Coast Warehouse is a privately owned distribution company located in Southern California. I was in charge of all areas of Operations for nine accounts.

• Responsibilities included Management of Inventory, Picking, Packing, Shipping & Receiving, Cross Dock Operations, P&L, and Process Improvement.

• Worked in the development, implementation and tracking of Engineered Standards, as well as starting and pushing through all special projects in all facilities.

• Acted as Assistant Operations Manager for two other facilities and responsible for the Vice President’s duties in his absence.

NYK Logistics/Puma Account - IC Manager 2002 - 2005

337k square foot facility/ Long Beach – Carson, CA

Yusen (formerly NYK) is one of the largest logistic companies globally.

• Puma account Inventory Manager and instituted change in all processes and procedures for maintaining Inventory integrity. The inventory accuracy increased from 61% to 99.8% through the use of, daily cycle counts, Product profiling, SOP’S, Annual Physical Inventory and set up of warehouse facility for better productivity.

• Installation of new Pkms warehouse management system from planning stages through integration.

• Troubleshoot issues throughout 337,000 square foot facility with 41,000 active sku’s.

• Worked with all departments to increase efficiencies and remove obstacles to employee performance.

• Was a key team member for the implementation/start-up team for the installation of the new PKMS warehousing system.

• Recipient of The Kaizen second half award in performance excellence in 2003.

Union Chemicar of America - Warehouse Manager 2001 - 2002

UCA is a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of thermal transfer ribbons and fax cartridges, with facilities in Southern California and Arizona.

• Manager in charge of raw materials used to supply manufacturing runs.

• Managed the Finished Goods Operation which included Shipping/Receiving, Inventory Control and Picking/Packing.

Nike is one of the premier sports apparel companies worldwide. I started in the Irvine, CA facility and was a key member of the team who relocated to a new facility in Foothill Ranch, CA.

• Oversaw all warehouse functions from Inbound to Outbound activities.

• Managed warehouse set-up and implementation of PKMS warehouse management package, put2light and conveyor system.

• Worked with the Inbound / Outbound Managers while reporting to the Director of Operations.
