Most recent contracted work as the Safety Manager Dec 2011 to January 2012 for American Cabling Company (ACC), a subcontractor under ADT Security Services Inc. The project location was Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport. ADT is the prime contractor for the installation and upgrade of the highly integrated platform for the new Controlled Access Security Systems and Digital Video Management Systems. Specifically, the Safety Manager was responsible for oversight of all safety matters to include training, inspections and audits, inventory of equipment, recordkeeping accident reporting and implementing safe work practices to prevent workplace injuries.

From May 2011 to Sept 2011 worked as the Safety and Occupational Health Lead for Total Environmental Concepts (TEC) Inc., work site location was Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC. The Safety Lead responsibilities were to facilitate and manage the installation’s safety program in compliance with the Department of Army Pamphlet and Army Regulation 385-10 and the Army Safety Program. The Safety Lead was also supervised safety professionals, to include assigning various work tasks such as drafting and updating regulatory programs, guides, and standard operating procedures. Additionally, the base Safety Lead briefed the Installation’s Base Commander, attended weekly staff meetings and was the subject matter technical expert for Occupational Health and Safety.

Prior to TEC, hired by Aerotek Inc., Staffing Agency from October 2010 to February 2011 assigned as contractor to Mabbett & Associates Inc. in the capacity as the government's Occupational Health and Safety Specialist / Industrial Hygiene representative. This was the first phase of a comprehensive renovation, restoration, asbestos abatement and demolition project located at the historical St. Elizabeth West Campus, home for the new construction of the Homeland Security Headquarters in Anacostia, Washington DC. Duties involved performing Occupational Safety and HeaIth (OSH) inspections, Industrial Hygiene (IH) Surveillance and Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Specifically, ensured personnel complied with OSHA's regulations regarding scaffolding safe work practices and construction design, personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection and protective clothing; Reviewed and approved construction of negative air pressure enclosure containment designs; Investigated and documented accidents/incidents to include near misses or mishaps potentially leading injuries. Reviewed hazardous material inventories of abatement contractors, material safety data sheets (MSDS) and ensured those materials were properly disposed at approved landfills or storage sites. Tracked and signed manifest transportation and disposal forms for the government; Conducted daily safety or IH briefing to the government's architectural and engineering staff on safe work practices, progress and performance. Additionally, ensured the asbestos abatement contractor complied with OSHA's Confine Space Entry Program / Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures, particularly when working in the underground tunnels throughout the facility.

British Embassy, Safety Manager/Industrial Hygienist, Washington D.C. Maxximus Environmental Inc. Rockville MD from November 2009 to March 2010 Hired for a short term contract (4mths) project providing oversight of complete renovation and removal of the Asbestos Containing Building Material from the building's heating engineering systems (boilers and ductwork insulation). Wrote technical reports with recommendations to help protect workers from potentially hazardous materials and processes; Identified gases, vapors or other potentially toxic materials, and collected air samples to ensure remediation operations did not over expose occupants or contaminate the work place environment.

Aerotek Inc. assignment from May 2009 to November 2009 to work the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a Safety Manager located in downtown Washington, D.C. Provided expertise in the following areas: Managed and updated Hazard Material Inventory; Developed and wrote Confined Space Entry Program procedures to include Lock-Out Tag-Out Program procedures; Provided Project Management and oversight of independent IH Contractors hired for specific IH monitoring and surveillance; Wrote technical proposals for procurement of IH service contracts; Performed worksite investigations to resolve occupant complaints of poor indoor air quality, Inspected office environments for ergonomics or engineering deficiencies; Provided daily support and guidance to DOE Facilities Engineering Department related to selection and reduction of potential hazardous materials, personal protective equipment and engineering designs to reduce potential occupational exposures.

Comar Associates Inc., from January 2008 through May 2009 government Occupational Safety and Health contractor with over 20 years of contracting support to DoD and other Federal agencies. Worked as Comar’s Safety Manager responsible for supporting the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) Safety Office programs located throughout the NCR. Performed as the Army Safety Office liaison. Scheduled annual walkthrough safety inspections, audits, and training classes by coordinating with the Army’s Collateral Duty Safety Officers for all Army Headquarter Command Groups. Conducted safety surveillance in accordance with AR 385-10 regulation and IH monitoring of workplaces, processes and systems; conducted accident/injury investigations and determined how such accidents or incidents might be prevented in the future; Investigated the adequacy of ventilation engineering designs through coordination with building engineering departments to resolve conditions that could affect employee health, comfort or performance; Wrote and reviewed Comar's Safety inspectors final reports with recommendations to eliminate or control work site exposures.
