STATEMENT OF FAITH
I really came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was a freshman in college. Being a part of Campus Crusade of Christ after a friend asked me to go I was changed the first night I went. I accepted Christ into my heart at that time and started on a journey that would lead me to this day into the calling the Lord has brought me into.
Before I had gone, my life before had become somewhat of a mess. I was raised in a Christian, Bible-believing home and I went to church every single Sunday because my parents had made us to. However, I did not like to go whatsoever because I wanted to do things my own way. I became rebellious at a young age and started becoming against my parents in what they were trying to teach me about Jesus and what He had done for me. I started becoming a lot more vocal, talking back to my parents a lot, stealing, and etc., which caused a lot of discipline and thoughts that I was not loved by my parents because of that. Therefore, I started acting like a very good kid: going to church and youth group every week so that I would be looked on by my parents as someone they could love. On the outside I looked like a good Christian boy, however on the inside I was looking for love in all the wrong places. I still was being rebellious outside the home in my high school days, which caused me to come to a point where I did not know who I was, and wanted out. I had spoken with my sister the night that I went to Campus Crusade my freshman year, and she shared her testimony, which I did not have a clue about, but it was almost exactly the same as mine. However, she had accepted Christ and I had not. That is when it clicked for me, and I realized so much how the Lord had been there for me the whole time trying to show me the love He had for me. I didn’t accept Him into my life until that night. When I did, it was like a breath of fresh air and I felt alive for the very first time.
From that point on, I started on a road with the Lord, which has not been easy. I have had many struggles along the way and will continue to, but the Lord has been changing my heart from day one. He has given me a heart for the world, the unchurched, and the body of Christ, to see them become more like Christ and to worship Him in spirit and truth. He has changed my life from the inside out, but I am not finished yet. I press on into Christ and into the knowledge of Him, forsaking all else.
