EXPERIENCE:
Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Analyst, Ft. Campbell, KY / Iraq: AUG 2008 – APR 2011
o Night Shift Non-Commissioned-Officer-in-Charge (NCOIC) on Special Operations Team Bravo (SOT-B)
o Conducted asset coordination among various national and theater level intelligence collection assets
o Supervised civilian personnel from three different agencies, and military personnel from three different branches (two of which were senior in rank)
o Maintained and operated the TROJAN SPIRIT “Lite” satellite communication package ensuring the Special Forces Group's connectivity to national and theater level intelligence assets
o Created maps, key personality profiles, and an extensive database of over 250 insurgents belonging to a network operating in Northern Iraq
o Called upon as the unit's subject matter expert in digital forensics to analyze over 10 TB of captured digital media
o Called to the Theater Holding Facility to apply digital forensics in order to aid a high level interrogation
o Created SIGINT target packages and conducted air asset scheduling, coordination, and communication for “to-the-door targeting” for over 70 Special Forces (SF) missions resulting in a high percentage of captures and mission successes with no friendly casualties
o Served as Military Intelligence Detachment (MID) Sergeant responsible for intelligence and combat training for 33 soldiers in six different Military Occupational Specialties (MOS's)
o One of only two Staff Sergeants selected to conduct the Commander's monthly sensitive items inventory resulting in all company equipment accounted for in less than two weeks. Normally a Sergeant First Class and above responsibility
o Accountable for over three million dollars worth of sensitive intelligence equipment
SIGINT Analyst for the Tactical Control and Analysis Element (TCAE), Ft. Campbell, KY: NOV 2006 – AUG 2008
o Developed inventory control database to track locations, hand receipt holders, and status of more than 8 million dollars worth of sensitive intelligence equipment
o Volunteered and led an administrative mission to Iraq to locate equipment previously thought to be lost - resulted in the recovery of almost two full pallets of sensitive SIGINT equipment
o Volunteered for three separate winter Robin Sage iterations (final phase of the SF Qualification Course). Consequently wrote “The Guerrilla Guide” to ensure support personnel assigned to Robin Sage were well-prepared and had the appropriate level of knowledge to conduct their part of the mission efficiently and effectively
Vulnerability Analyst, Fort Belvoir, VA: MAY 2002 – NOV 2006
o Served as a vulnerability analyst on an Information Systems Security Monitoring (ISSM) team. Advised counterparts and unit commanders about vulnerabilities associated with their communication systems and security. Routinely responsible for transporting $1.5 to $3 million worth of sensitive equipment worldwide via commercial transportation
o Conducted over 40 ISSM missions without a single incident with the local authorities or supported units
o Alerted US Army Counterintelligence to three separate real-world threats, one of which was on US soil
o Created computer based training program to help new soldiers learn how to use the many different “black boxes” used by the ISSM team significantly decreasing the time for new soldiers to be assigned to deployment teams
o Deployed worldwide, served as team lead for the Close Access Team (CAT). Responsible for physical access, photography, recordings, copying, and other methods of obtaining vital information within denied areas during Red Team missions. Used basic psychological principles to solicit information from personnel. Assisted other Red Team members in computer network analysis, defense, and exploitation
o Conducted over 50 Red Team missions worldwide as the Close Access specialist without a single incident with local authorities or supported units
o First to demonstrate the need for Human Intelligence (HUMINT) during vulnerability assessments of Department of Defense (DoD) installations and units
o Took initiative in learning, developing, and incorporating modern day information gathering techniques, such as “social-engineering”, into the Army's Vulnerability Assessment Division. Exposed major gaps in DoD security worldwide
o Trained other HUMINT personnel at the unit about, and how to use, social-engineering to obtain access and information
o Wrote the first Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) for the unit's Close Access Team outlining the basic psychological principles, multi-tiered attacks, and countermeasures
US Army Recruiter, Newport Beach, CA: November 2001 – May 2002
o Served as recruiter, motor pool sergeant, and school presenter for US Army's intelligence and linguist programs
o Coordinated maintenance for over 30 government vehicles among seven different recruiting stations o Made presentations about the Army linguist program to high schools and organizations throughout Orange County, CA
Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Analyst, Camp Essayons, South Korea: OCT 2000 – OCT 2001
o As a Specialist (E-4), chosen to serve as the Section Sergeant for the Division's SIGINT section
o Spearheaded the reworking the Division's organic SIGINT collection mission (QUICKFIX) resulting in a 100% increase in collection
o Learned to use the LST-5000C satellite communications radio (used for early warning), wrote an SOP, and taught the SIGINT and ELINT sections how to use it. Previously, no one in the unit was proficient with this radio
o Chosen by the First Sergeant to establish security in the motor pool area of Camp Essayons during the events of September 11, 2001, including a machine gun nest, roving patrol, and security of the gate
o Chosen to attend the Yonsei University Korean Language Immersion Course and subsequently earned a 2/2+ on the Defense Language Proficiency Test
