INC RESEARCH, LLC (FORMERLY KENDLE INTERNATIONAL INC.), Cincinnati, Ohio

A leading, global full-service clinical research organization that provides a broad range of Phase I-IV clinical development services to the biopharmaceutical industry. In July 2011, Kendle was acquired by privately-held INC Research, LLC. The combined entity had 2010 pro forma total revenues of $940 million.

Vice President, Accounting, 2009 – Present

• Manage the Company’s worldwide accounting staff of approximately 170 associates and ensured compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission, local statutory and various tax reporting requirements for approximately 35 legal entities.

• Oversaw the development and implementation of a revised global transfer pricing strategy which reduced income taxes paid and consolidated cash in more strategic locations.

• Played a leadership role as a member of the PeopleSoft Steering Committee responsible for the world-wide implementation of the PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning solution, thus improving the monthly closing process, making financial information more accessible and increasing reliance on automated internal controls.

• Led a review of the Company’s internal audit strategy and implemented the revised approach, which resulted in increased flexibility and scalability with regards to staffing, improved expertise with systems, best practices and international knowledge and reduced costs by approximately 30%.

NEWPAGE CORPORATION, Miamisburg, Ohio

The largest coated paper manufacturer in North America based on production capacity, operating 20 paper machines at ten paper mills. In 2008, NewPage had revenues of $4.4 billion.

Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, 2007 – 2009

• Ensured that all financial statements and filings were accurate and complete for financial reporting to the SEC, external banks and bondholders; ensured that corporate-wide accounting policies and appropriate internal controls were in place in accordance with GAAP; and assisted in the documentation and completion of Sarbanes Oxley Act compliance.

• Oversaw the completion of SEC filings related to a $2 billion acquisition, registration of public debt and an initial public offering of common stock, while meeting ongoing reporting requirements (Forms 10-Q and 10-K).

• Improved productivity and reduced costs by integrating the acquired Wisconsin accounting department into Miamisburg, Ohio operations. Implemented SAP general ledger system for the acquired operations and reduced the monthly closing cycle.

THE REYNOLDS AND REYNOLDS COMPANY, Kettering, Ohio

A leading provider of integrated software solutions, services and business forms to automobile dealers, primarily in North America. In 2006, Reynolds had revenues of $1 billion and was acquired by Universal Computer Systems (UCS).

Vice President, Controller and Chief Accountant, 1996 - 2007

• Developed and maintained accounting policies, ensured compliance with generally accepted accounting policies and SEC accounting rules, directed preparation of internal and external financial reporting (including Forms 10-Q and 10-K), designed and maintained internal controls and ensured compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act, oversaw financial planning and analysis, budgeting and payment of vendors.

• Working with the national offices of Deloitte and outside counsel, I authored Reynolds responses to SEC comment letters regarding revenue recognition concluding that no restatement was required and reviewed our conclusion with senior management and the Board of Directors; and obtained the SEC’s concurrence with our conclusion.

• Led the implementation of numerous accounting pronouncements on topics including revenue recognition, business combinations, goodwill, stock compensation, segment reporting and restructurings.

• Participated in quarterly earnings conference calls with analysts and investors. Periodically met with analysts, investors and credit rating agencies to review financial results or accounting issues.

• Prior to the sale of Reynolds, we identified $90 million of cost savings and raised our earnings forecast and thereby increased the final sale price by more than 20% from the initial offer.

• During my career at Reynolds, revenue grew from $325 million to $1.6 billion through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth which required equity and debt financing as well as innovative compensation plans.

Previously held various management roles in accounting and internal audit while at Reynolds, including the Controller and Chief Accountant position. Promoted twice in eight months upon joining Reynolds.
