EXPERIENCE:

Project Manager responsible for the design and supervision of all aspects of large highway and civil/site projects, including the development of environmental documents, design field view plans, final plans, and specification and estimate packages, and for coordination with the client and the project team. Assesses priorities throughout the development of each project to determine staffing requirements and maintain the project budget and schedule.

Lead Hydraulic Engineer responsible for the supervision and review of highway projects for drainage, stormwater management, and hydrologic and hydraulic design from conceptual layout through preliminary design and analysis to final plan, report, and detail submissions. Experience includes flood insurance studies and Corps of Engineers projects; hydrologic watershed analyses; hydraulic pipe culvert, stream, and river analyses using HEC-2 software; stormwater management analyses; and detention basin design and routing.

HYDRAULIC PROJECTS

I-79 Meadow Lands Interchange, Preliminary and Final Design, Washington County, PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 12-0. Lead Hydraulic Engineer responsible for reviewing and supervising the design of a roadway drainage system, channel relocation, hydraulic and hydrologic reports, erosion and sedimentation control plans, and a stormwater management detention basin.

Open-End Agreement for Various Environmental and Engineering Services, Western PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 10-0. Lead Hydraulic Engineer responsible for design review and supervision for hydraulic and hydrologic reports for the Petrolia Street (S.R. 0268) Bridge replacement over South Branch Bear Creek and the S.R. 2025 bridge replacement over Crooked Creek at Cochrans Mills. The S.R. 2025 bridge replacement was within a flood control reservoir and required coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a gauge data evaluation.

Doughtery Mills Bridge Replacement (S.R. 0173) Over Slippery Rock Creek, Butler County, PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 10-0. Lead Hydraulic Engineer responsible for design review and supervision for the hydraulic and hydrologic report and review for the design field view and design exception report.

HIGHWAY AND CIVIL/SITE PROJECTS

Rockwell Building Expansion, Mercer County, PA, Grove City College. Project Engineer for site work and utility relocations for the expansion of a college building.

Squirrel Hill Tunnel Rehabilitation, Allegheny County, PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 11-0. Project Engineer responsible overseeing the preliminary design of a highway rehabilitation.

Landslide Repairs, Allegheny County, PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 11-0. Project Engineer responsible for supervising the design of roadway reconstruction associated with small landslide repairs on S.R. 3054 and S.R. 2086.

Collier Division Garage and Harmar Division Garage Improvements, Allegheny County, PA, Port Authority of Allegheny County. Project Manager for the preliminary and final design and preparation of construction and bid documents for the pavement replacement within the Collier Bus Garage and the paving improvements and stormwater separation within the Harmar Bus Garage. The two projects included erosion and sedimentation control plans for Conservation District approval and backup design data for solids and oil/water separators for the client’s application for industrial wastewater permit revision.

College Activities Building, Grove City, PA, Grove City College. Project Manager responsible for civil site and utility design for a new proposed building on the campus of Grove City College. The project is design-build, requiring extensive coordination with the structure designer, building architect, and college facilities management personnel.

Mon/Fayette Expressway Design Management, Preliminary and Final Design, Uniontown to Brownsville, Washington and Fayette Counties, PA, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Design Manager assisting the client with review and supervision of its design consultant’s final design for two sections of four-lane limited-access highway, each approximately 2 miles in length. Tasks included technical design review of roadway geometry, coordination of roadway design with structural and geotechnical design, constructibility review, schedule and budget tracking, agency and public coordination, administrative assistance, environmental tracking, and utility coordination.

S.R. 0022, Section B10, Final Design and Engineering Assistance During Construction, Westmoreland County, PA, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 12-0. Project Manager for the preparation of final design roadway plans and specifications for the reconstruction and widening of 2.2 miles of highway to four lanes with a center median. Work included developing roadway construction plans and cross sections, soil erosion protection plans, signing and pavement marking plans, hydrologic and hydraulic reports, traffic control plans, and traffic signal plans and client, public, and agency coordination; project schedule and budget oversight; and subconsultant design supervision.

Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan, Grove City, PA, Grove City College. Design Manager responsible for the preparation of site grading, stormwater drainage, water line relocation and soil erosion and sedimentation pollution control plans for building projects at a college campus. Buildings included a chiller plant, a new fine arts center, a new academic building, and a student activity building. Work also included client coordination and coordination with other design consultants to ensure design consistency.
