OBJECTIVE: My desire is to secure a position in the Criminal Justice position in hopes for the near future becoming a detective, investigator, position in security, forensics or federal agent for the government working in a forensic area of some sort. My degree is in the CJ field but my experience is in the medical field. Looking to accept a possible manager position for a chance to get experience. Willing to do either one. Willing to relocate.
EDUCATION: Graduate from American InterContinental University, (AIU) in Dunwoody, Georgia. Bachelors in Criminal Justice concentrating in Forensic Science as well as receiving computer training outside of the school environment, but willing to accept a position earlier if offered the right one. Two years at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia. One and a half years at Southern Union in Opelika, Alabama; both concentrating in a nursing degree. Fifteen months of Paramedic School with S.I.F.T.A. Inc. in West Point, Georgia. Construction apprentice for 2 years with Masonry Arts Inc. Troup County High School Graduate, 1998 in LaGrange, Georgia.
EXPERIENCE: Currently working at Piedmont Hospital for the last 5 years, first as a Cardiac Technician in the post open heart surgery unit interpreting and analyzing cardiac EKG’s which I have 10 plus years experience in, assisting physicians and nurses with patient care as well as assisting with computer maintenance. I NOW hold the position as Piedmont hospital’s only full time Cardiac Sheath technicians, pulling femoral arterial and venous sheaths after procedures such as stents placement, heart caths, angioplasty from the cath lab and ablations from the E.P. lab. I have been pulling sheaths for the last 3 years, pulling 3500 to 4000 sheaths myself. Nine months at Central EMS, treating, caring, and transporting emergency and non-emergency patients to appropriate facility. Four years working at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA as a
Cardiac Technician and Patient Care Technician performing duties such as interpreting and analyzing electrocardiograph heart rhythms, assisting nurses and physicians with handling of patients, and taking care of physician’s orders to make sure the patient received the kind of treatment they need and deserve. Two years with Masonry Arts in Bessemer, AL cutting, fabricating, polishing, and installing granite and marble countertops, tile, etc. in private homes and professional business buildings. Two years working at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL as a Cardiac Tech and Patient Care Tech performing duties such as interpreting and analyzing electrocardiograph heart rhythms, assisting nurses and physicians with handling of patients, and taking care of physician’s orders to make sure the patient receives the kind of treatment they need and deserve. Six years working at West Point Parks and Recreation in West Point, GA as a field supervisor during all sporting events involving children and managing the public pool during the summers, teaching swimming lessons to children and adults, life guarding, and working pool parties.
Special Skills: Very outgoing and social which has made it very easy to associate with the public in a personal or work standing environment regardless of the situation. Well trained in computer programs such as Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. as well as troubleshooting problems with electronic equipment, computers, etc. Having the ability to multitask in many different situations, emergency or non-emergency, environment along with working very calmly under very stressful situations. Ability to learn fast and on my own, mainly because I have been thrown out and told to work or go home. Having worked mostly in the customer service area such as the medical field for a good many years, I have excelled in my social skills with the public whether it is in calm or extremely stressed situations as well as my ability to work in fast paced, even confusing environments.
