EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
Jun 2011 – Aug 2011
Blue Star Camps, North Carolina, USA Drama, Theater Arts Director
I worked children between the ages of 6-16, delivering drama workshops and working towards two musical/showcases at the end of each summer season. These sessions included workshop activities and games so the children and I got to know each other, as well as aim for confidence building and a wider knowledge of theatre and drama. I gained a lot of experience working with children this summer, as well as from my peers, as we were able to share techniques and activities.
Mar 2011 – May 2011
Kensington Fields (KFCA), Kensington, Liverpool Drama Teacher
Worked with children, mainly between the ages of 6-10, delivering basic drama and theatre sessions, also games and activities that the children were familiar with, possibly from school. As well as this, I worked with the children on arts & crafts and aiding the smaller ages with computer needs, also being part of the out of centre trips.
Jan 2011 – March 2011
Liverpool Film Academy, Westminister Rd, Kirkdale Drama Specialist
Worked with children and adults, including the elderly community. I delivered drama and theatre workshops for all ages, and worked on specific ideas with each age grouping. With the youngest children (aged 8-11), I worked on building their confidence in working with theatre and drama, for the teen group (aged 12-16), I worked with a topic, which they chose and based each session as a theatre in education workshop. When working with the community group, I used the sessions to work on character building for the performance at the end of the programme, and with the elderly I based sessions on their perceptions of youth through the decades. I also took on a few roles in the Production office, replying back to script writers with feedback on their writing.
Mar 2010 – Jan 2011
Croxteth GEMS, Armhill Road, Croxteth, Liverpool Drama Specialist
Worked with children 11-18 years at Croxteth GEMS youth centre, I delivered drama workshops as the leading specialist. It was a voluntary project as part of my university degree. At the end of the project, the group had devised a performance based upon the subject the sessions were based upon; HIV and AIDS. The group also wanted to continue with the sessions, my partner and I came to an agreement that we would return and continue the sessions with the group. Once again working for Croxteth Gems.
June 2010 – Aug 2010
Camp Kinder Ring, Hopewell Junction, New York Camp Counsellor
At camp I was able to share a lot of my skills as part of a team, helping to care for children between the ages of 7-10. These girls were the youngest campers at the camp. I was responsible for their safety, supervising with their cleanliness regime, I aided them with dressing and provided supervision at meal times. I worked as part of a team to create a fun, caring and safe environment for all.
