One quarter of my job duties is spent in a role dedicated to providing individual counseling to a caseload of youth. The rest of my duties are directed towards supervising juveniles in the residential program as well as helping maintain control and discipline within the facility. Interact with the youth and provide structure and safety. Provide/facilitate individual and group skill building. Manage large groups of residents, provide role-modeling, build and maintain relationships, hold residents accountable for their actions, and teach responsibility. Observe, evaluate and record resident’s behavior and provide documentation in reports.

Supervisor was Sandy Smith, LCSW. Operated as an acute care manager in which I assisted in guiding patients through the continuum of care. This included but was not limited to screening for risk (medical, psycho-social, and economic), facilitating caregiver support groups, transitional planning, connecting patients to appropriate levels of care and continuity of care, care education, community referrals, and ongoing monitoring for plan effectiveness and continued need of services.
