I am seeking a challenging position in photography that maximizes my photographic skills.

Experience

Rosina Photography, owner - photographer, June 1996 to present

I own and operate a growing commercial photography business. I use natural, artificial and/or strobe lighting, large and medium format cameras, as well as 35MM, digital cameras and digital video. I photograph a wide range of people, places and things, on location and in the studio. I make many creative and effective portraits of individuals and groups. I also make very clear technical photos of objects.

In addition to photography, I manage my business - preparing estimates, contracts, invoices, and letters, as well as promoting my business and my website (www.RosinaPhotography.com). I maintain a negative file library and a digital workflow of images into a filing system. I also take and process reprint orders. To successfully run a small business requires that I have good people skills and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, as well as having flexible working hours. Operating my own business requires a mastery of Word Perfect, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quickbooks, Adobe Acrobat and Palm Desktop as well as a familiarity with Freehand and In-Design I am also comfortable and fluent in most of these programs on both Macintosh and IBM computing platforms, Mac OSX and Windows 2000 or XP.

I also freelance assist for other photographers, working with various photographic equipment and studio lighting.

John Harrington Photography, Photography Assistant and Office Manager, June 1998 to June, 2003

I managed John Harrington’s staff of up to six interns and other photographic assistants. I set up equipment on photo shoots on location or in a studio that required the use of natural, artificial and/or strobe lighting, large and medium format cameras as well as 35MM and digital cameras. In addition, I also served as the primary photographer on many occasions. I processed photo orders, such as reprint orders, guaranteeing high quality to the client, in a timely manner. I prepared estimates, letters, invoices, and maintained negative files, equipment rentals and storage records.

John Harrington Photography required a mastery of photographic skills, as well as knowledge of basic computer programs on both Macintosh and IBM computing platforms, such as Word Perfect, MS Word, Photoshop, Quickbooks, Filemaker, MS Outlook, and Palm Desktop, as well as familiarity with color management and equipment calibration.

I managed a team of two to ten “animators,” who brought our product, an internet home delivery shopping website, to life through grassroots promotion. I worked closely with our team to set up promotions where we gave out product and engaged people in dialogue at local public places with high volumes of foot traffic as well as festivals and events. I kept track of expenses, planners, and the competition, produced recaps as well as documented the whole experience by digital camera for the client.

I performed public relations duties with local and national media (WHFS, MTV, WMUC, Washington Post, City Paper, Spin, Urb and numerous music magazines). I photographed events for the webpage. Recorded the weekly promotional voice mail advertisements. Managed promotion and sales of “Fever Mixtapes” nationwide. Wrote copy for flyers. Maintained and updated a 10,000 person promotional mailing list. I managed and coordinated theme parties as well as coordinating the travel and lodging arrangements for various DJs and performing artists.

Moto Photo-RAS Investments; Photo lab Technician, June 1995 to Jan. 1997

Developed film, (black & white, color, slides - 33MM, 110, 120), processed prints (color, black & white - mini lab, darkroom work, pictrostat), shot copy negatives and slides, set up in store sales displays, completed many inventories and oversaw other retail functions.

Air and Space Museum, Public Affairs Specialist, 1994-1995

Hired to respond to the huge amount of correspondence received from the public regarding the “Enola Gay” Exhibition. I assisted at press previews and answered requests for general media information about the museum. I assisted in the management of public access to the historic photographic collection through the receipt and processing of photo orders.
