WORK HISTORY:
2002 – Present: Broward County Public Schools, Title One/Curriculum Specialist, Broward County, Florida
• Modeling and coaching for classroom teachers using several Language Arts/Reading strategies aligned with FCAT to enhance student achievement.
• Trained teachers in “6 Traits” and “Coaching for Change” in Broward County Schools.
• Mentor and coach teachers on how to Differentiate Instruction in Language Arts classes.
• Worked with teachers to develop writing portfolios and implemented student data chats.
• Implemented Writing Professional Learning Communities in all of the DA schools to share best practices as well as coach and model scoring of the FL Writes test using the State rubric.

• Worked with Language Arts departments at various schools. Silver Lakes Middle School improved from 60%, achieving a 4.0 or higher, to 75% from the previous year. Persuasive writing improved from 51% to 75% on the Florida Writes test.
• Deerfield Beach Middle School improved from 68%, achieving a 4.0 or higher, to 78%, achieving a 4.0 in Persuasive Writing from the previous year.
2001 – 2002: Broward County Public Schools, H.D. Perry Middle School, 6th Grade Reading Teacher, Broward County, Florida
• Taught 150 students ESE, Regular and Advanced reading using several strategies to help motivate students to achieve their highest level of learning
• Created Cooperative Learning groups according to Benchmark Data
