The Company offers digital wireless service to subscribers by utilizing wireless Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology and Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) technology.
Manager Installation and Maintenance (Sept 2006 – Mar 2009)
Responsible for leading a team of 12 technicians and 1 logistics specialist. Supervised the routine maintenance, troubleshooting , network performance, and capacity growth for over 500 cell sites in the NY Market. Provided expertise in troubleshooting issues related to EVDO, T1s, dropped calls, network expansion, and RF interference.
• Expert knowledge of iDen and CDMA networks.
• Supervised the performance of Distributed Antenna Systems and Inbuilding Fiber systems for numerous locations including JFK and LaGuardia airports.
• Reconciled over $37 Million of inventory closing over 1400 work orders in 6 months.
• Decrease shipping costs by 50% by identifying unused assets in cell sites and by creating automated reporting methods to track progress of routine maintenance projects and resource availability.
• Increased spare part availability by enforcing strict repair and return processes within the market.
• Emergency deployment of temporary cell sites and microwave links to resolve large customer impacting outage in key infrastructure sites.
Senior Manager, RF Operations (2003 – 2006)
Led a team of 3 Sr. Supervisors and 18 Field Technicians and managed the growth of the iDen Network in NY East . Responded quickly and decisively to network outages and maintained network uptime at 99.93% or greater.
• Engineered a 18GHz microwave ring throughout Brooklyn, Queens and NYC that provided permanent T1 backup capabilities for critical cell sites.
• Increased network availability by negotiating with telco providers to replace malfunctioning NIU and MUX batteries in the NY Market and have them proactively maintain the batteries in over 400 sites.
• Tripled the weekly run rate of site expansion processes by integrating project management and risk management policies.
Supervisor Field Operations (2001 – 2003)
Supervised 8 Field Technicians and was responsible for prioritizing work based on customer impact.
• Devised alternative solutions to space constraints that allowed the addition of radios needed for voice capacity.
• Supervised the installation of duplexers required for phase 1 of rebanding the iDen network.
• Collaborated with other Supervisors to create a Technician Handbook and to standardize technical policies and procedures.
• Created and maintained an Access database to track site information which allowed technicians to update and view information remotely in the field.
• Completed inventory audits accurately and ahead of schedule. All issues were identified and tracked until solutions were implemented.
Field Technical Engineer (1999 – 2001)
Responsible for the maintenance and performance of up to 60 cell sites in the NJ area.
• Maintained network availability above 99.9%. Steadily reduced dropped calls in area of responsibility by identifying poor performing cells and working in conjunction with RF Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Within 2 months the top 10 network performance issues were resolved.
• Trained new technicians in the day to day maintenance procedures and in depth troubleshooting. Utilized training as an opportunity to document field procedures and released the methods of procedure to the entire team.
