HSE SPECIALIST in COCA-COLA BEVERAGES PAKISTAN LIMITED (April 2012 to continue)

Responsible for formulating and implementing CCBPL’s Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, Security & hygiene procedures. I am responsible for Health & Safety of more than 1000 employees and Environmental Impacts of Asia’s largest Operations. I am looking after Asia’s biggest Coca-Cola Plant located in Lahore along with 3 sales centre, 1 warehouse and Head Office.

During my time period in CCBPL, I have been appreciated by Director HR & Business Partner ER & HSE for implementing International Standards in short time span of only 4 months. Moreover, I have passed GAO Audit “S1” successfully by leading operation team.

After my joining, I have conducted various Inspections, Audits of Plant as well as Warehouse & Sales centres. I have promoted HSE culture as all activities have now been conducted after conducting Risk Assessment, which was deficient earlier. After involving in meetings regularly with Operation’s Top Management, convincing them for implementation of HSE, by team work we created a sense of awareness among all employees.

CORPORATE AND SITE ENVIRONMENT, SOCIAL AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (OCTOBER 2009 – April 2012)

I was working as Environmental, Social Occupational Health and Safety (ESOHS) Officer in Laraib Energy Limited- A Hubco subsidiary, in 84-MW New Bong Escape Hydro-Electric power Project. I am the only female among workforce of 600 and managing all HSE matters efficiently. My job responsibilities were;

1. To manage Environment clausis in Contracts, design and evaluate programs, and analyze relevant policies.

2. To ensure implementation of Environmental and Social Issue Management Plan, Resettlement Action Plan, Security Plan, EIA of the project and applicable laws & regulations.

3. To regularly perform routine inspections, walk-abouts and Audits according to HSSE and Food Safety by developing Audit Methodology, work plans, and audit trainings.

4. To conduct HSE Risk Assessments, prepare Risk Register, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and ensure the implementation of Permit to work (PTW) system.

5. To prepare Company’s Monthly, Quarterly and Annual compliance reports for Government Offices, Financial Institutions and other stakeholders as per their requirements. Additionally, I am responsible for providing comments on Contractor’s ESOHS reports.

6. To develop formats and reports for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as an obligation under Project Design Document (PDD) of the Project.

CORPORATE AND SITE ENVIRONMENT, SOCIAL AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER (2010 and 2011)

I have been working as acting ESOHS Manager on the same Hydropower Project in Laraib Energy Limited, in absence of ESOHS Manager. My job responsibilities were;

1. To coordinate and satisfy Environment Protection Agency-AJK, International Finance Corporation, Islamic Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority and other relevant stakeholder’s.

2. To develop & implement Health Safety Environment–Management System (HSE-MS), SOPs for EMS (ISO 14001:2004) and OHSAS 18001.

3. To design Water Treatment Plant for the Project Site and to plan Environmental Sampling by carrying out Risk Assessments.

4. To carry out HSE Audits, Inspections and walk-abouts by developing Audit checklist as per the Standards, Audit Methodology and implement the corrective actions.

5. To develop and ensure implementation of HSE Policies and its procedures, Emergency procedures like Fire Safety Plan, Health Surveillance, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Annual Management Plan, HSE Objectives and Targets, Quarterly ESOHS trends and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).

6. To promote HSE culture by providing HSE Award, trainings and introducing Learning Log.

7. To issue HSSE bulletins/updates, to conduct Monthly HSE Committee Meetings, carry out need Assessment of employees regarding HSE training. Besides, I am responsible for updating Company’s website vis-à-vis ESOHS section.

8. To conduct investigations of HSE accidents and/or incidents, prepare and deliver HSE Induction. Also, to develop and implement CSR plan and resolve community grievances.

9. To ensure good community relations with locals, local notables and Government officials for ensuring smooth Construction and Operation phases of the Project.

MANAGER HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM IN “IDARA-E-TALEEM-O-AGAHAI” ( June 2009 – October 2009)

In Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahai (ITA) – A Public Trust, I have worked as Manager Health and Environment program, head of 350 schools, under Whole School Improvement Program (WSIP) program. I have visited schools in the far flung areas/remote areas such as Dera Ghazi Khan (DG khan), Mufazargarh, Rahim Yar Khan etc. In that respect, my job responsibilities were to;

1. Liaise with other like-minded organizations in government and non-government sectors

2. Show problem solving attitude, enable head teachers to own Health & Environment (HE) program, motivate and mobilize the community for HE care activities and to make schools’ environment healthy and positive place for children and teachers.

3. Formulate School HE Policy, strategy for school health programs and set up system of health maintenance records.

4. Conduct HE need assessment for new schools, introduce latest trends in Climate Change & sustainable development and include HE messages in existing scheme of studies.

5. Train heads of the schools and teachers on HE issues and integrating it in school activities.

6. Supervise the related activities of HE Program.
