Border Children’s Health Center Nurse Coordinator 2000-Present
Responsible for coordinating total nursing care for pediatric patients, as well as special needs children, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with other ancillary team personnel in maintaining optimum patient care. Act as a liaison, advocate, and case manager with service providers for the child and family. Responsible in coordinating prior authorizations for tests and/or procedures ordered by physicians, using ICD-9 Codes and CPT Codes. Responsible for interacting with specialty physicians that come for out of town.
Hospice Nurse 1999-2000
Responsible for patient management care to include keeping patient comfortable and pain free, teaching family members the care of terminally ill family members, family counseling, supervision of Certified Nursing Assistants, interacting with Physicians, Social Workers and Spiritual Counselors.
