My role as Chief Deputy was to interpret and explain Illinois statutes, policies, methods, and procedures to various constituencies, including attorneys, county officials, board members, and the public. The role required legal authority to audit all documents for state compliance, as well as ensure proper documentation and preservation. As a respected officer of the county, I was selected to participate on an Illinois legislative committee to review and provide feedback to propose changes in state laws affecting county government.
