Quality Assurance Test Technician, January 2010 - May 2010
Frontline Bioenergy, Ames, Iowa
• Primary duties included the collection and analyzation of the producer gas for tar content and composition. The testing of the samples included gas chromatography, moisture content, rotary evaporation, and SPA extraction.
• Set up, shut down, and maintenance the producer gas sampling system.
• Consulted with project engineers to design and implement testing strategies to improve process control.
• Wrote standard operating procedure for the maintenance of the sampling system and analyzation of samples taken.
• Trained and supervised graduate students as they used the biomass gassifier sampling system and laboratory equipment.
• Downsized due to poor economic condition.
Temporary Quality Control Technician, May 2007 - August 2007

• Performed various tests on chemical samples from water test kits produced at the plant. These tests included heavy metal content, pH, making standard solutions, titrations, infrared spectroscopy, etc.
• Performed and documented the test results quickly to allow the shipment of the water test kits.
Engineering Intern / Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician, June 2006 - November 2006

• Tested pasta samples to ensure the quality of the product. This included moisture content, gluten, physical measurement, etc.
• Worked with process technicians to learn the pasta extrusion process, and wrote training manuals and tests for new process technicians
