03/12-Present: Project Safety Lead (temporary military contractor): This position supports all safety functions at the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA)/Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site, including safety oversight of all military contractors and sub-contractors to drive a team approach zero injury safety culture.

Job duties include:

• Creates detailed inspections of all facilities, equipment and machines, including: metal shops, machine shops, construction sites, and maritime, airfield, telemetry & tracking and space launch operations.

• Performs risk assessments and assigns severity/probability risk factors.

• Writes and implements Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).

• Performs root cause and incident report interviews and investigations.

• Performs applicable regulation research (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, DoD, Army, etc.).

• Performs a variety of OSHA required safety training, safety briefings, safety stand-downs and tool box talks.

• Utilizes a variety of sampling and test equipment (four-gas detector, anemometer, quantitative respirator fit tester, noise dosimeter, etc.).

• Main areas of responsibility and oversight include: Kwajalein Aviation Services, Berry Aviation Flight Operations, Berry Aviation Fixed Wing Maintenance Hangar, Automotive Services and WHECO Cranes & Heavy Equipment. Alternate areas include: Supply, Shipping, Receiving & Warehousing and Retail.

04/02-03-/12: Safety Manager (EH&S Manager): Planned, implemented and coordinated all relevant environmental, health and safety programs for a 740,000 sq. ft., three plant, 650 employee, Union, industrial fan and blower manufacturer to reduce and eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, financial losses and meet all compliance requirements.

Job duties included:

• Developed and implemented safety programs and policies to incorporate and comply with all city, state and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI and DNR standards.

• Served as the liaison between the Company and outside safety and environmental enforcement agencies, facility and worker’s compensation insurance companies and external safety and compliance auditors.

• Performed annual reviews of all safety programs, Job Safety Analysis’ (JSA) and safety training.

• Created safety metrics reports, graphs and databases to track injury trends, including Injury Rates, DART, DAWFII, MOD.
