2010- Present Training Liaison , Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 14 – Mayport, FL
Training Subject Matter Expert. Responsible for oversight of unit training plans for naval combat units assigned to DESRON 14. Units under supervision deployed to key combat areas in Africa and the Middle East.
2009- 2010 Executive Officer, USS Gettysburg (CG-64) – Mayport, FL
Second in Command of an Aegis Cruiser. Responsible for planning and executing the training and overall readiness of a naval warship. Duties included management of all ship’s administrative functions including correspondence, pay, and personnel. Additional duties as ship wide Security Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Training Team Leader. Direct supervision of 31 Officers and over 300 enlisted personnel.
- Achieved an OUTSTANDING score for material condition and readiness as observed during a major Congressional mandated periodic inspection of afloat naval units
- Achieved above a 97% score during a major cycle maintenance program inspection in 2010.
2007- 2009 Budget Programmer/ Analyst, OPNAV Pentagon – Washington, DC
Responsible for Navy program budgeting input for Submarine and Navigator of the Navy programs. Programming responsibility for procurement and operational funding. Duties involved evaluating over 45 acquisition programs against cost/schedule/performance metrics to determine program health and viability.
- Developed a fiscally guided and defensible budget submission for years 2010-2015 across 45 acquisition programs totaling over $15B.
- Conducted a cost savings study with respect to the Navy’s Amphibious Ship lift capability, identifying potential savings up to 1.5 M a year.
2006 - 2007 Engineering Auxiliaries Officer, USS Nimitz (CVN-68) – San Diego, CA
Responsible for all out of plant engineering support systems on board a Nimitz class aircraft carrier. Direct supervision of 4 officers and over 100 enlisted personnel. Managed a $1M annual repair and maintenance budget.
- Directly responsible for the successful completion of 1,835 corrective and system upgrade contractor jobs involving over 43,935 man hours during a six month maintenance availability (PIA 06).
2004 - 2006 Operational Test Director, COMOPTEVFOR – Norfolk, VA
Planned and conducted all operational testing of several major Department of Defense ACAT 1 Acquisition programs. Direct accounting responsibility for the operational testing budgets for these Congressional oversight programs.
- Expertly managed the operational testing for three major defense Acquisition Programs to include the DDG 51 Flight IIA program, Cooperative Engagement Capability and Cruiser Modernization programs with total annual budgets exceeding $4M dollars.
- Drafted and conducted two extensive consolidating test plans in 2007 involving multiple naval weapons systems, saving the Navy over $2M dollars in test and evaluating funding.

Responsible for all combat and weapons systems on board an Aegis class Cruiser including Force Protection measures. Direct supervision of 5 officers and over 100 enlisted personnel. Managed a $750K annual repair and maintenance budget.
1998 - 2000 Instructor/Assistant Summer Training Officer, US Naval Academy –Annapolis, MD
Instructed four semesters of university courses. Planned and coordinated training commitments for over 2000 midshipmen through two summers.
1996 – 1998 Fire Control Officer, USS Kidd (DDG 993) – Norfolk, VA
Responsible for all fire control systems on board a Kidd class guided missile destroyer. Managed a division of 30 enlisted personnel.
