Description:

Ariba is used for the Internet to enable companies to facilitate and improve the procurement process. Procurement had been a paper-based, labor-intensive, and inefficient process for large corporations. Ariba provides "Spend Management solutions" which help companies "analyze, understand, and manage their corporate spending to achieve cost savings and business process efficiency." Currently, 94 of the Fortune 100 and more than 200,000 other companies use Ariba's SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions to manage their spending and commerce activities.

Roles And Responsibilities:

• Creation of user databases and ensuring file group creations and also ideally placing files in appropriate locations

• Creating logins and assigning proper permissions to the created logins, mapping logins to the database and granting appropriate permissions

• Involved in Installing SQL Server and its service packs, and also client installations as required

• Checking the status of backup, troubleshooting the failed backups and restoration of databases

• Ensuring documentation is constantly updated without any miss

• Ensure that every user is connected to the Database Server and troubleshoot whenever there is any problem in the connectivity

• Involved in handing of Outage Notifications accordingly and following the process during production maintenance/production down issues

• Involved in Up-gradation/Migration SQL Server 2000 databases into SQL Server 2005.

• Fixing orphaned users through stored procedures
