I am an experienced PeopleSoft HCM functional consultant. My experience includes more than 11 years working with the HRMS modules through 9 full lifecycle global and domestic projects in both the public and private sectors. I have filled a number of functional team and project lead roles as an experienced business analyst, manager, and test manager. In addition to strong Core HR functional knowledge, I bring extensive prior business experience in the sales management and financial services areas.

Independent PeopleSoft Consultant

Sept 2008 – February 2009

Client – Transocean – Oil and Gas Sector

Project Manager for PeopleSoft based portal utility. This was a custom bolt-on designed and built to automate the transaction approval process, using workflow and CI to commit transactions to PS. It was a global initiative to standardize processes across all regions including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa and South America.

 Managed the 6-month project, from requirements through implementation, team of 8.

 Facilitated all meetings with SMEs, business sponsors, end users and developers.

 Coordinated all phases of testing, including test plan creation, data conditioning, script creation, execution and re-testing.

 Designed and assigned all security.

 Designed and built all end-user Training.

 Worked with change management team to coordinate communications to all global offices.

 ESS / MSS testing.

Oct 2007 – Aug 2008

Client – EDS (for Cardinal Health)

Functional Business Analyst / HCM Team Lead for 8.9 Upgrade and custom portal implementation

 Led Functional HR team in assessment, design and configuration for upgrade from PeopleSoft v8.3 to v8.9. This included organizing, reporting and coordinating the balance of resource loads, testing, defect resolution and schedules.

 Wrote requirements and functional design specs for 38 custom reports to accommodate the standardization of multiple US and global office procedures.

 Coordinated cross functional work with other PeopleSoft and other point solutions to support custom portal, including Taleo (RAS), Workstream (Compensation), in addition to other downstream benefits administrators. This was an SAP portal used as the foundation.

 Coordinated with Technical leads to ensure accurate communication of functional requirements and design.

 Designed mass update procedures for use in heavy acquisition and reorganization environment for this global manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies and technologies.

 Designed custom PS tables and fields for reporting and interfaces.

 Wrote and executed SQL scripts to validate conversion data, configuration and defect resolution.

Client – Chesapeake Energy – Oil and Gas Sector

Functional Business Analyst HRMS for 8.9 Implementation – new acquisition

 Led functional HR team in assessment, design and configuration for migration from ADP/HRP legacy system, to the implementation of PeopleSoft v8.9

 Set up new Labor Agreements for new union population, along with Wage Progression rules and union dues, etc.

 Facilitated HR client execution system integration testing.

 Identified setup and data conversion for payroll and HR; worked with SMEs and IT to resolve.

 Validated North American Payroll and Ben Admin conversion; balancee Parallel.

Sep 2006 – April 2007

Client – Alaska Air Group (Alaska Airlines & Horizon Airlines) – Transportation Sector

Functional Business Analyst / HR & Test Lead for 8.9 Implementation (from 2 legacy systems)

 Led functional HR team in design and production of functional specs for migration from two different legacy systems, to the implementation of PeopleSoft v8.9. This included table configuration, compensation setup, step increases, variable comp, etc.

 Designed, coordinated and directed cross-functional system integration test plan; directed the production of test scripts. This included scheduling database refreshes, execution and validation of 300+ HRMS test scripts.

 Facilitated HR client execution of North American & Canadian Payroll parallel test data entry

 Assisted training manager in designing HRMS end-user training documents.

 Facilitated assessment and design workshops, as well as “breakout” sessions to reconcile client’s existing customizations with PeopleSoft enhancements.

February 2004 – August 2004

Client – HSBC, International Banking Sector

 Managed the cross-functional Test team for System and User Acceptance Testing on a global integration project, which merged together two large international companies.

 Supervised 8 full-time team members and 30+ testers for Core Hr, Payroll and Benefits testing.

 Designed security profiles for all Functional testing databases

 Designed test plan for testing, and validated conversion data for PeopleSoft all HRMS modules

 Created and reported all management metrics around Functional Testing

October 2003 – January 2004

Client – ABN Amro, International Banking Sector

 Tested and validated conversion data for PeopleSoft Benefits Administration module for a conversion project from legacy to Peoplesoft 8.3.

August 2003 – September 2003

Client – HSBC, International Banking Sector

 Assisted project management in planning tasks, including fit/gap analysis of the merged 8.3 application environments in order to determine what functionality and modifications the target environment will utilize.

 Provided subject matter expertise in PeopleSoft HRMS Version 8.x functionality and related business process to support Migration team. I assisted in facilitating review and analysis sessions and produced project documentation consisting of: fit/gap results, issues, and other project results.

June 2003 – June 2003

Client – Internal IBM project

 Contributed to the development of a successful 10-year, $400 million BTO proposal for a Leading CPG Manufacturer

January 2003 – April 2003

Client – Pfizer, Pharmaceutical Sector

 Led the integration testing team of 7 in validating a Payroll conversion from Legacy to PeopleSoft.

 Managed the TPR (defect) database

 Validated parallel test and cut-over results for an offshore division.

March 2001 – December 2002

Client – General Motors, Transportation Sector

While completing this 18 month PeopleSoft HRMS project for a ‘Big 3’ automotive client, my service was extended four times. While assigned to this project I:

 Performed a detailed requirements analysis for migrating the global 7.5 implementation to 8.8.

 Led the functional requirements gathering, design, testing and migration of a customized portal application which allows users to interact with PeopleSoft.

 Served as a liaison between IBM, the client and the other software vendors involved in the portal project.

 Led the functional production support team during GM’s North American rollout for Peoplesoft HRMS, providing expert level support for over 3000 users. This role included all aspects of Workforce Admin such as hire, terms, transfers, labor relations, discipline & grievances, additional pay, mass updates, affirmative action, compensation, benefits, etc.

 Provided troubleshooting, security administration and documentation for Cognos, Citrix, PeopleTools, and other PS conversion issues.

June 1999 – October 2000

Client: Honeywell, A Fortune 50 OEM in the EHT vertical

 Initial three-month contract extended to thirteen months through end of merger activities.

 Project lead for the conversion of two business units to PeopleSoft Training Administration module.

 Developed and implemented interim transfer procedures for the integration of the client’s systems with those of the company acquiring the client. Multiple business units using disparate systems were combined as a result of their merger.

 Scoped and defined the functional specifications for data mapping portion of the HR, Payroll, and Benefits integrations.

 Defined and documented the implementation methodology and processes.

 Led system readiness (fit gap, data scrubbing, planning) team for multi-billion dollar merger.

 Provided post-implementation support for 400 PS end users, both domestic and international.

 Prepared and delivered EUT curriculum for new users.

Other Peoplesoft roles 1997-2000

Client: The Associates, Financial Sector

 Project Assessment: Researched, developed and presented the multi-million dollar budget, funding proposal and resourcing plans.

 Refined the final MS Project plan, designing management reports, status reports and procedures for managing the project's budget.

 Defined and authored the Scope & Constraints Document.

 Facilitated the modified JAD sessions, as well as the preliminary Requirements and Design sessions

 Led the team to assess and document the HR Functional requirements, organizational readiness (training, change leadership, org design,) and ad hoc reporting pieces of the project.

 Launched the System Administration Manual project (defined, designed, and organized project roadmap)

This was a 40,000 employee payroll distribution system (conversion from Genesys to PS v7.0) implementation, with 250 regular users and 30,000+ weblet users.

Client: State of New York – Public Sector

 Built the Access database that generates and maintains the project's System Administration Manual. This 1000-page project required translating all PeopleCode, including modifications, into “English” for end users.

 Built and coordinated the test-tracking database and process flow for code and user-acceptance testing.

This implementation project had 2,000 users and 200,000 employees on the system.

Client: Southwestern Bell, Telecommunication Sector

HRIS Analyst & Trainer

 Project Lead for Training Administration implementation. Built all setup tables, established naming conventions and security.

 Post-implementation production support.

 Wrote and presented training on PeopleSoft 6.1 Query and Training Admin for 100 users in 15 markets.

 Wrote, ran and analyzed management reports in PS Query for all business operations.

 Ran SQRs for benefits, government reporting, general census, and employee population analysis.

 Built ad hoc data queries for mgt. requests for benefits, government compliance reporting, general census and employee population analysis, .

Prior to my experience as an HRMS consultant, I had a successful track record in sales management and financial services.
