Study to evaluate the long term and efficacy of brivaracetam used at a flexible dose
up to a maximum 150 mg/day in subjects aged 16 yrs or older suffering from epilepsy.
Clinical Research. Howard University Hospital. 2005-2008. Worked with Dr. Syed Zaidi on the Project; Expression of Alpha-7nAchRs on spinal cord, brainstem neurons controlling aspirator drive to diphragm. The studies were designed to test the hypothesis that nicotinic receptors containing the Alpha-7 subunit were expresed by neurons at multiple sites in the respiratory network controlling diaphragmatic activity. Experiments were performed on male Sprague Dawley rats.
