Professional Experience
Strategic Business Systems Inc, Sterling, VA
Mainframe Storage Engineer. March 2011 – January 2012
• Completed a project for a major Electronics Corporation to convert all virtual and physical STK silos to EMC MDL virtual systems located in 5 major data centers.
Citigroup, Irving Texas
Infrastructure Sr Tech Analyst June 2007 - October 2010
• Responsible for writing and maintaining COB (Continuance of Business) or Disaster Recovery procedures as well as executing those procedures during COB test exercises. COB tests could be either traditional tape lift and load or recovery from replicated DASD depending on the PLEX/Business unit being tested.
• Responsible for backing up all of Citigroup’s DASD volumes in North America which included over 800 TB of data.
ACS, Dallas Texas
Infrastructure Management, Senior Analyst June 2005 – February 2007
• Planned and implemented Advanced Recovery System which included migration to Hitachi Tagmastore subsystems and implemented data mirroring scenario using Hitachi True Copy and Shadow Image software. This replaced the tradition Disaster Recovery Infrastructure.
• Implemented IBM VTS peer to peer configuration as part of Advanced Recovery Solution.

Advisory MVS Storage Manager August 1996 - January 2005
Provided Storage Management support for several commercial and IBM internal systems in the Boulder, Colorado data processing center. Duties included implementing and customizing storage software, managed DASD pools to insure continuous space availability and superior performance, and created and maintained ACS routines. Accomplishments in this position include the following:
Technical team lead in the conversion from a manual tape library to IBM 3494 ATL and VTS. Created the technical project plan, defined the tape libraries, SMS constructs, and created the ACS routines required.
Technical team lead in the conversion from FDR/ABR to HSM and DSS. This conversion was very complex
and took several months to implement. When completed, this led to a cost savings of thousands of dollars for NSTAR customers.
Converted all DASD (about 1.5 tb) in an IBM internal account, from RVA to IBM 8300 DASD. Worked with IBM CEs, Capacity Planning and other groups to get the 8300 configuration established and implemented. Installed and implemented TDMF by Softek as the data mover. The successful end-result was a non-disruptive move of the data.
Lead Storage Administrator for project to move a data center from a Phoenix AZ data center to the IBM Boulder CO data center. Responsible for mapping for the source to target DASD addressing. Created JCL for all Dumps and Restores. Worked with other support groups to coordinate the move, which had a 24-hour window to complete.
