Began working on a grain farm where our family lived, raised working with friends doing a variety of farm labor from baling hay and straw, picking up rocks, cleaning barns. Progressed to working fully on grain farm during my last years of high school into working through my Purdue University Ag-Short Course, transitioned to Agri-Business with USS Steel by filling anhydrous ammonia nurse tanks and spreading fertilizer, then to full-time field service manager and daily operations manager during spring operations. Consisted of soil testing, crop management to the farmers crop plans with proper fertilizers, seeds and pesticides. Responsible for sustaining current customers and attract new customers to sustain the business.

MILITARY DEPLOYMENTS:
Afghanistan 2009-2010
Deployed, from Retirement, with the 1-19th Indiana Army National Guard Agri-Business Development Team whose mission was to travel to parts of Afghanistan to assess the agricultural needs that would improve the agricultural economy through the development of Best Management Practices in all facets of agriculture from crop, livestock, forestry, orchard, and education to county extension agents. Part of my responsibilities were to develop improved seed wheat program, support the units missions in agriculture as a pay agent for 2.5Million dollars in projects and to conduct fire inspections of all offices, quarters for soldiers and extended buildings in support of the units maintenance and storage.
Columbus, Indiana 2004-2005
I was assigned as the Rear Detachment Commander of the Columbus, Indiana 113th Support Battalion which provided support to higher headquarters during Hazelton, Indiana flood and Katrina with a support team of Maintenance, Supply and Health Care specialist. During this assignment I became active in Columbus, Indiana during the Columbus Philharmonics Memorial Day Celebration, served on Bartholomew County American Red Cross board as a Military Representative, and served part-time as a paramedic on Columbus Regional Hospitals ambulance service.
Logistics / Distribution Operations Manager 2004-2007
Directed operations of a support battalion of a brigade sized element and it’s attached units of supplies and equipment for over 3500 soldiers. Monitored all transportation assets and operations, including quality controls, to ensure transportation services met contract obligations as well as local and national government regulatory requirements. Responsible to ensure that logistical operations supported the higher operations to in order for the total success of the organization.
Key Achievements:
• Achieved 96% plus in personnel strength that supports logistical operations.
• Identified over supply issues of internal units which improved inventory control.
• Achieved the recording of personnel, logistics and training of unit for future accountability of the unit for quick reference in support of unit deployments.
Logistics Coordinator 2002-2004
I served as a high level coordinator for logistics between vendors and subordinate unit of the brigade to ensure that the integration of the functional supply and services, transportation, maintenance, and medical services were comprehensively complete en order to support the daily requirements of the brigade.
Key Achievements:
• Established pre-positioned accounts of vendors
• Monitored expenses of accounts as to stay within to a zero balance budget
• Monitored and documented logistical demands for the efficient budgetary operations of the future.
Maintenance/Logistics Coordinator 2000-2002
Assistant Logistics officer for the Brigade S-4, responsible for the monitoring of the brigade equipment which ensured that all annual inspections and service dates were within compliance of guideline establish and approved of through this office of Maintenance/Logistics Coordinator.
Key Achievements:
• Instrumented a policy for the proper maintenance and reporting through proper channels of all equipment through this office for review to the commander.
• Established maintenance policy and procedures in support of all major movements to ensure proper documentation for transportation travel were complete and correct.
• Reviewed all reports of Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss
Commander of Logistical Unit: 1996-2000
General Supplies, Fuel, Transportation
I coordinated the receiving and the distribution of supplies to subordinate units and the support of transportation, per documented request, of equipment and supplies.
Key Achievements:
• Combined two unlike subordinate skilled units into one supporting unit to higher headquarters, which required many coordinated staff meetings through both personal and media contact.
• Sustained logistics units of sizes from 30 pieces of rolling equipment of platoon size to an Infantry Brigade officer in charge of maintenance.
• Achieved over 100% in personnel staffing to support unit operations. Filled 3 key leader positions through a developed training plan that supported the unit’s goals and objectives of safe operations and highly maintained equipment.
• Processed new equipment yearly at low cost en order to support the unit’s responsibilities.
Previous Military Positions included coordinate with vendor supplier of the required demand and delivery of bulk petroleum and water needs. Provide accurate records for fuel and water demands and accountability.
