Results driven manager with over 30 years of commercial, operations, and general management experience in the petrochemical and ethanol businesses. PROFESSIONAL EXPERINCE

Consulting Engineer – November 2011 – Present

Chemical Engineering consultant for the ethanol production industry. Projects include small expansions, energy savings projects, and yield improvement projects. All projects include economic analyses to justify capital expenditures. Customers include Green Plains Renewable, Pacific Ethanol, and other small ethanol producers in the Midwest.

Plant Manager – Pinal Energy – September 2010 – October 2011

Responsible for operations, maintenance, engineering, and E/H/S for a 50 MM gallon/year facility in Maricopa, Arizona. The job entailed managing 55 employees while also improving the competitiveness of the plant.

• Set monthly production records in three out of first seven months of operation.

• Implemented and drove Six Sigma process improvement program to improve raw material yields. As a result, the plant achieved over $5 million per year in reduced raw material costs.

• Developed a Yearly Capital Budget process for plant project expenditures with operating goals and financial metrics to hold plant engineering accountable.

Director, Latin American, Business Development – Authentix July 2008 – August 2010

Responsibilities included developing new customers in Latin America for our proprietary nano-technology fuel and lubricant marking chemicals. Customers were government agencies seeking fuel tax evaders or national oil companies (Shell, Petrobras, Pemex, etc) seeking to protect their brand and sales volumes.

Plant Manager/Consulting Engineer – Corn Plus July 2006 – June 2008

Responsible for supporting the Corn Plus Plant in Winnebago, Mn for project management, state permits, and process improvement.

• Improved distillation process at Corn Plus through tray redesign, and other changes which resulted in a 5% - 10% improvement in production capacity.

• Recommended operating system changes to molecular sieve unit and designed equipment to improve operation. Project cost $1 million and results include approximately 3 - 4 million extra gallons of ethanol capacity.

Ethanol General Manager – Sun Energy – January 2004 – June 2006

Responsible for plant safety, plant operations, engineering, equipment design, state environmental permits, equipment purchasing, training, process improvement, and personnel performance management for a small ethanol plant

Supply Chain and Customer Service Director – Celanese 1999 – 2004

Led department of 55 employees responsible for order entry, pricing maintenance, and logistics for the North American Region for Celanese Chemical Company.

• Led startup of Order Fulfillment Center in Singapore. Transferred all order entry responsibilities from the U.S. to Singapore.

• Led efforts to implement SAP Order Entry processes for all orders and logistics for North America.

• Responsible for annual salary budget of over $2.5 million. Responsible for performance management of over 55 employees.

Strategic Planning Manager, Acetyl Derivatives Business Team – Celanese 1994 – 1999

Responsible for managing and approving a yearly capital budget of $20 million and for developing product line marketing plans. Plant locations included the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Germany, and France. Led product line teams to develop product line strategies and determined plant capacities to meet sales forecasts.

• Approved projects within capital budget that resulted in over $5 million in cost reduction while also increasing sales revenue by $27 million.

• Initiated and led two plant viability studies (Mexico and Germany) to improve long term viability by reducing costs and improving productivity.

Sales Manager- Andean Region of South America – Celanese 1992- 1994

Responsible for chemical product sales to customers in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Sales revenue totaled $25 million per year. Increased sales volume and revenue by over 20% during my two year tenure.

Process Engineer, Group Leader, and Production Manager – Celanese 1980 – 1992.

• Designed distillation columns, pump systems, reactors, compressor systems.

• Supervised 20 operators and 4 shift supervisors for two operating units.
