DST SYSTEMS, INC., Kansas City, MO 2001 – 2010
Software Development Technical Project Lead
I coordinated and managed IT project development from beginning to end ensuring adherence to departmental standards and best practices. Defined and verified objectives, scope and deliverables. Determined and assigned tasks, maintained Project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Tracked milestones and adjusted project plans and resources as needed, scheduled and lead team meetings with both technical team and business analyst. I was involved with several mergers (ING, Putnam, and The Hartford). Regularly met with regulatory compliance insuring all projects met guidelines thereof .Used WATERFALL SDLC on all large scale projects, and RAD for smaller projects
Managed a team of 6 technical associates, I was responsible for assigning work, approving vacation, approving time cards, performance reviews, merit increase recommendations.
Initiated and led offshore (Bangkok) development project in an effort to review, revamp and standardize processes and procedures for primary architectural changes, resulting in saving on average 800 hours for projects requiring architectural changes.
Created a more functional Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) which was subsequently used on all projects in the department.
Delivered the Plan Indicator Phase I project, on schedule and under budget. This project included Mainframe, Desktop, Web and Voice components. This was accomplished while all other current project were requesting extensions and were not able to meet budgets and timeframes, I turned down extension offers and meet all original scheduled deliverables
Enhanced Participant ACH Contribution system to allow employee contributions to 401k to be processed through any bank chosen by the investment plan. Prior to enhancement investment plans could only use a single bank. This was a 20000+ hour project over 3 years with 40 associates working on it at various times in the project life cycle. It involved components for Mainframe, Desktop and WEB.
Developed and implemented a “Roth Deferral” application in accordance with regulatory compliance. This project was error free through all implementations stages

Responsible for leading rewrite of Claims Payment System, using Interactive SDLC
I designed and Lead the development project at physicians mutual for their new consolidated claims payment system. This was for 18 months with a team of 6 programmers and 2 BA. I also designed the relational database and all the tables therein for the project
I Convinced upper management to update the Claims Payment system from batch reporting to a fully integrated online CICS with instantaneous access to information.
