------------------------ B.E. PROJECT REPORT -------------------------

Engineering Third year Project :-

Title Seismographic Data Logger

When the object is suspended above ground having no contact with ground, and ground is caused to move, the object will stay at its position but separation between ground and object will change and that is recorded by using a suitable sensor(Hall Effect) and amount of changed magnified and recorded.

It has following sections,

1. Power supply section:- Used regulated power supply IC7805 for fixed 5 volts.

2. Pendulum Assembly:- It contains metal wire, one end attached to rigid support and other end hanged a heavy weight and disk magnet attached to heavy weight.

3. Sensor Assembly:- It contains Hall effect sensor(SS495A) attached to rigid support nearby disk magnet, an amplifier circuitry(Op-amp ICLMC6484) to amplify output signal from hall effect sensor, two stages of chebyshev low pass filters to avoid frequencies above 50 Hz., Variable gain stage Where gain can be adjusted through variable register.

4. Control circuitry:- Signal from variable gain stage is given to pin.2 of microcontroller PIC 16F876 where analog to digital conversion of signal takes place at sampling freq. Of 25 Hz. Each converted output is given to computer through RS232 interface at rate of two bytes per sample.

5. Memory Bank:- It is a series of eight memory chips(24LC256) each one of capable of

storing 32,768 bytes of data i.e. 16,384 samples. Output of microcontroller is also given to this

memory bank to store sampled data.

5. Software at PC:- We used Windows based Visual Basic 6(VB6) software to see the graphics, that is fluctuations of pendulum from its initial position.

Title Wireless Traffic Control System

For wireless signal communication, we have four traffic signal poles which individually acting as a one acting as a transmitter & receiver & remaining three acting as receivers, having Xigbee module inbuilt.

1. Power supply to system (including four pole): Used solar Panel (18 watt).
