Responsible for roadmap, strategy and project management of 6 applications that manage Axiom, SeaChange’s flagship video on demand product, in addition to personnel management responsibilities over 9 engineers. Delivered major release of Axiom on schedule. Required direct communication with major customer, Product Management, and Sales regarding feature specific requirements and schedule deliveries. Delivered Global Data Warehouse product on schedule meeting a fixed deadline. Applications included web front end against MS SQL database as well as C++ applications.
Enterasys Networks, Inc – 11/03 – 9/06
Sr. Software Development Manager
Embedded Network Management/Host Services: Functionally responsible for development team of 8-10 engineers, including network management architecture, user interfaces (CLI, SNMP, web GUI, XML), and host services including SSH, SSL, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and RADIUS. NM responsibility was across all Enterasys products – edge devices, distribution, and highly available advanced core router. Drove technical architecture and design meetings.
Wireless: Defined engineering role for OEM development process. Successfully identified tasks to be performed by the engineering team for improvement of vendor software quality. Also responsible for definition and development of wireless switch software application which will perform management of access points: automated channel/power configuration, rogue AP detection, and fast roaming.
Secure Networks: Initiated and led the Secure Networks Architecture Working Group, a cross-functional, cross-product effort to provide consistency in all Enterasys products for security strategies and implementations. Have addressed consistency for RADIUS attribute implementation, DOS attack protection, and engineering level process/tools for building security into source code throughout the product lifecycle. Team included Director level members from all Enterasys engineering teams, Product Management teams, and Enterasys’ security evaluation team.

Moved to support organization from development during budget crunch and managed support team for all Avaya’s data networking products, including managing resources overseas. Responsibilities involved working directly with customers at an account management level.
Sr. Development Manager, Layer 4-7 Embedded Software (matrix across functional and project management)
Multi-functional project leadership responsibility for architecture, design, and development of the supervisor module for convergence product. Included all facets of supervisor – chassis mgt, platform, L2 switching, plus voice gateway software. Led the software architecture for high availability.
Functionally responsible for engineering team (reduced from 9 engineers to 5) in addition to program team leadership responsibilities (including development, SQA, tech pubs, product management, and launch) for major release of the Cajun P882 modular switch. Functional ownership included all management interfaces: embedded web, CLI, SNMP, and all security. Recent project was focused on security, in particular secured management, including SSL, SSH, SNMP V3, and password protection
Acting Director, Avaya Policy Manager (formerly CajunRules) – Enterprise Internetworking Systems
Responsible for 17 person team, with 3 managers on staff. Full director level responsibilities for 2 years including complete budget responsibility and product direction authority. Reported to VP and was rated against other Directors. Worked closely with system architects as well as product management to define direction of network management products. Strong focus on QOS implementations: access control lists, priority queues, as well as CBQ, policing, RSVP, and MPLS for VoIP support. Member of the Metropolitan Ethernet Forum. Project cancelled 3/02 due to budget constraints.
Sr. Development Manager, CajunView Network Management System(Lucent)
Directed effort to architect and build scalable, reliable NMS consisting of element managers and network-wide applications such as VLAN manager and multi-port/multi-switch configuration manager. Team size varied between 12 and 21 engineers. Effort began with merging of acquisition Prominet products into Lucent, led the successful merging of two products and two teams, from C++ to Java. Cajun management was written up in Network World Magazine for high ease-of-use and high quality.
Development Manager, ATMman (Agile Networks)
ATMman was the original NMS for Agile Networks, grew team from 3 to 12 engineers in 1 yr., managed several releases. NMS focused on ATM LANE management support and automated VLAN management.

Total product responsibility for two year, $13 million project from R&D initiation through customer delivery, consisting of cross-functional team up to 55 people. Responsible for status presentation to executive management including the CEO. Project was a major release of CO Access, BTI’s voicemail product for the telephone industry. 12 out of 14 sub-projects were the highest quality projects produced to date at BTI, 13 were delivered as scheduled. Responsibilities included acting as the R&D representative to the corporate product team, and as the R&D central contact for the customer in addition to project management.
