Research Assistant – Electrical Engineering, Tennessee Technological University (Aug 2008 – Aug 2010)

• Design of a Wireless Strain Sensor – A wireless strain sensor is designed using an innovative single transistor modulation technique. Use of single transistor serves many purposes like less power consumption, sensor as compact as 1 cm in diameter, easily mounted on any mechanical and civil structures like bridge bottom, helicopter rotor blades, etc. The signal can be received over a distance of 20 meter.

• Calibrating the sensor for concise data availability – Calibration of the results imparts accurate and actual strain information when compared with the strain measurement unit. Calibration imparted mechanical point of view to the research.

• Simulation – Actual experimental implementation leads to several engineering obstacles which were overcome by simulating the ideas in various softwares like LTspice, Pspice.

• The final goal of designing and building a working strain sensor is achieved over a period of masters. The sensor is finally printed on plastic substrate with the help of an inkjet electronic printing technology.

Unique Controls Pvt. Ltd., India (Feb 2007 – Mar 2008)

• Design Project: ‘Control Panel designing for a Garment Industry’, PLC programming for the entire industry.

• Designing various types of panels like APFC (Automatic Power Factor Correction) panel, desk type, inverter, distribution panels, etc.
