Dec 08 – Jul 09: Quality Manager. TSS Technologies. Quality Manager overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100. As an AS9100 trained lead auditor, maintained the internal and supplier audit program. Monitored and reviewed the corrective action program as well as compiling statistical data in review of the QMS. Supervised a staff of 18, to include quality engineers, inspectors, CMM operators and programmers and inspection lab supervisor. Aug 07 – Dec 08: Quality Manager. LNS America. Quality Manager overseeing the (QMS) for 3 facilities. Maintaining ISO9001:2000 certification for 2 plants and implementation of the QMS at the Cincinnati facility. Write Quality Manual and Quality procedures in compliance with ISO9001:2000.

Nov 01 – Aug 07: Position: Quality Manager/Manufacturing & Quality Engineer & Safety Director, Douglas Machine & Tool Co, Cincinnati, Ohio. Responsible for quality control of aerospace and power generation hardware. Revised the Company Quality Manual to meet the requirements of AS9100 for Aerospace. Established test and measuring equipment calibration records and recall program. Established and maintained approved vendor list, performed vendor quality audits and verified vendor certifications for raw material and services. Conducted internal quality audits, resolving internal and external quality non-conformances and interface with customers on quality issues. Reviewed quotes and new purchase orders for customer quality requirements. Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) for GE Aircraft Engines. I monitored quality with the use of SPC, continuous process improvement and root cause analysis using the Apollo system and initiated action to eliminate the causes of non-conformities. Supervision of quality inspectors and assume duties of the Quality Manager in his absence. Also familiar with the requirement of an aerospace repair center.

I am a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and use Minitab statistical software. Jan 96 – Nov 01: Position; Manufacturing-Quality Engineer, Sermatech-Lehr (Lehr Precision), Cincinnati, Ohio. Responsible for product development and control of compressor blades and vanes for the aerospace and the power generation industry. Duties include review of Request for Quotes (RFQ) for new products from customer’s drawings and specification, quoting required tooling, preparation of process routers, operation sheets, detailed processing instructions, engineering folders and bills of materials.

Implemented lean manufacturing in accordance with the Toyota Production System and effective workplace organization and standardized work procedures using the “5s” philosophy. Trained cell members where necessary and initiated one part flow process through a cell eliminating batch or lot processing through the use of KANBANs, reducing cycle time by calculating TAKT time, as well as the necessity to store and stock pile large quantities of inventory. Through cell manufacturing, instilled efficiency in the manufacturing process through the use of Kaizen, increased productivity, reduced scrap and rework and streamlined cycle time.

Researched new equipment and prepared cost justification for capital investments, i.e. CBN super-abrasive grinders, glass bead peen equipment, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) NDT equipment and heat treat furnace. Prepared SOPs and Quality Procedures for these operations.

I am a certified Level II FPI inspector and Level III for Pratt & Whitney for Codes 2, 7 and 9, as well as being certified in shot peen. I am knowledgeable of the requirements for NADCAP certification and have successfully received certification for the company’s FPI and Heat Treat operations. Familiar with all forms of NDT examinations

Responsible for preparing CNC programs for various machines, i.e., lathes, VTLs, horizontal and vertical milling/drilling centers. Designed fixturing and performed related manufacturing engineering duties. Assisted in the development of the CNC Multi-Axis Gantry Robot and Fiber Placement machine for Cincinnati Milacron used for making the large turbine blade for the GE90 engine consisting of carbon fiber composite material.
