VOLUNTEER WORK

I have had the pleasure of being involved with the PTA at my children’s school for many years. I have served on several committees. Although this work is not easy, I take a lot of pride in the job that I have done.

Fundraising Committee member, chair and co-chair August 2007 – June 2012

I have been on this committee for five years, the last three as the chair. As the chair, I have researched and selected the fundraising opportunity that I felt would work best for the school. I am proud of the fact that I have exceeded the goal that our PTA President has set for the fundraiser each year. I have worked with several different fundraising companies and have enjoyed each moment.

Homeroom Committee Chair August 2009 – May 2010

I was responsible for coordinating a homeroom parent for each class as well as the master list of all volunteers that are allowed in the building during classroom holiday parties.

5th Grade Celebration Committee Chair August 2009 – May 2010

Coordinated the volunteers, planned and organized an end of the year celebration for the entire 5th grade class.

Gift Card Committee Co-chair August 2010 – June 2012

Develop and maintain a new program at the school that enables parents to purchase gift cards for gifts or everyday expenses. Each purchase a parent makes financially benefits the PTA. Parents have been pleased with this program because it allows them to contribute while spending money they already intended to spend. It has been well received within the school.
