Program Manager, IT, Knowledge Management & Simulations June 2008 – Present

Chief, Modeling and Simulations Division, US Army North, the Army Service Component Command to NORAD-NORTHCOM. Responsible for Simulation software policies, techniques and procedures for US Army North and developing a sustainable simulation training program. Directs and supervises Simulation logistical and technical planning in coordination with the US Army North training and exercise program for our Defense Support of Civil Authorities and Homeland Defense missions. Responsible for developing Battle Command Training Center requirements for US Army North and for providing expertise in all areas of simulation support to the US Army North CCMRF training program.

• Designed a unique computer simulation based training environment for the purpose of training Department of Defense organizations tasked with disaster and consequence management.

• Lead the change of the training paradigm for NORTHCOM and DOD.

• Solely responsible for the development and management a 4.4 million dollar computer simulation and IT support contract, including software development oversight.

• Project Manager responsible for the design and engineered simulation support and telecommunication networks that cross multiple domains and agencies.

• Primary change agent for Knowledge Management at US Army NORTH. Resulting in a DOD wide conversion to Collaborative software environment on unclassified networks

Simulations Software Development Liaison to Australian Army August 2006 –May 2008

• Provide Subject matter expertise to Australian Army regarding US simulations and computer based command and control systems.

• Assisted with development requirements of Virtual Battle Space 2 (VBS2), a virtual simulation used to provide realistic training to the US Army.

Simulation Center Manager November 2004 – July 2006

• Program Manager, I Corps and Fort Lewis Battle Command Simulation Branch (BCSB) of the Training and Computer Simulations Data Center.

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation the premier Training and Computer Simulations Data Center in the western United States.

• Conduct the coordination and execution of training to the I Corp, Fort Lewis and regional digital training support for FORSCOM, Reserve and National Guard Units.

• Responsible for the management of a $29.5 million dollar, 110,000 square foot facility, and government oversight to a 93-person contract support team.

Simulations Operations Officer January 1999 – October 2004

• Simulations Operations Officer who was responsible for developing as an operational specialist and a simulation specialist, capable of helping design and create the Synthetic training environment to support the Army’s war fighting exercises, reengineering legacy simulations and simulation software development.

• Project Manager responsible for directing research with annual funding exceeding $200,000.

• Led, and coordinated the application of advanced distributed simulation research.

• Designed the XML based data structure used in OneSAF, the Army’s premier entity based simulation and Command Post of the Future, the Army’s primary command and control system.

• Designed and implemented a unique A* search algorithm that was the basis for Bot movement in the game America’s Army.

• As the project director, responsible for synchronizing the efforts of analysts, contractors, Naval Postgraduate School professors, students and other organizations within the DOD.

Logistics Officer July 1998 – January 1999

• Logistics officer for the 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division as part of the Multi-National Division (North) and the Operational Reserve for the NATO Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

• Provided logistic support for more than 2,400 soldiers, 45 helicopters, 38 combat vehicles and 160 other vehicles.

• Managed the Brigade expenditures for the $100 million MND(N) operating budget.
