Dear Hiring Manager

Re: Application for Customs Clerk

I am writing to apply for the position of Customs Clerk and to inform how my experience and qualifications relate to the position.

I have relocated to Montreal from Vancouver and presently looking for a

work arrangement or a Customs Clerk at your company.

I have worked as a Customer Service Representative and Transportation Clerk for a shipping agency and renovation operator for nearly 4 years. In this capacity, I dealt with Canadian Federal Customs rules and regulations on a daily basis and ensured timely, accurate, and professional communication with existing and potential clients. Moreover, as an experienced Transportation Clerk, my areas of responsibility included preparing import and export documentation according to the L/C, freight quotations, and goods booking and shipping.

In addition, I have hands on experience as a Release Classification Analyst and Customer Service Representative. I am knowledgeable in regulations and proper procedures to clear many companies’ imported goods and to efficiently maintain the updated records and files using current software.

I hope my 4 years of experience in the logistics field, qualifications and training will meet the required standards for this position. In addition, I believe that my excellent interpersonal and communication skills, extensive knowledge of computer operation and Microsoft software, and good problem solving skills could be an asset for your company.

Please find enclosed my resume which outlines my qualifications and previous work experience. I look forward to having an opportunity to contribute my skills for your company’s vision and goals.

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,
