Implementation of an Critical Care Nursing QA program with >93% compliance standard met. Developed, co-authored and implemented multiple ICU protocols e.g. Emergency ICU nursing response, withdrawal of care, sportO2 therapy, insulin protocol, propofol, ventilator associated pneumonia bundle and pain and agitation protocol. Developed and implemented an ICU End of Life Palliative Care Program and assisted in educating team. Implemented ICU nurse CRRT program, and implementing Rapid Response teams.
Clinical Nurse Specialist: Development and implementation of respiratory nursing, IMU and ventilator education curriculums. Developed, co-authored and implemented multiple projects e.g. critical care and IMU emergency admission order sets, minimum standards of care for ventilator patients protocol, ventilator rounds, flu and pneumococcal vaccination screening program, continuous lateral rotational therapy protocol, patient and family teaching guideline standards for pulmonary disease, mock codes and crash cart nursing education, inadvertent tracheostomy decannulation and dislodgment protocol and a hospital-wide notification protocol for the intubation of patients in respiratory distress. Developed a medical nursing flow sheet and revised two critical care flow sheets based on national best practice. Was an organizer of the 2001 Southern California Respiratory Rally for Research.
Case Management: Developed and implemented hospital wide Care Management program consisting of APNs, RNs and social workers incorporating patient care team conferences, a prescription assistance program, total joint pathways, congestive heart failure patient and family education program, pneumonia map, emergency department asthma protocol, asthma patient and family education program and a chest pain protocol.
