The Kentucky Regional Language Festival (three consecutive years): I watched high school students while taking the language exams, I explained to them the exams process, and played the listening section. I was also a member of the jury that was selecting the best art works of the students.

The Study Abroad Fair (three times): I assisted the study abroad office in promoting the study abroad programs.

The International Refugee Center: I assisted the Iraqi families to adapt to the new culture and the environment, I taught them the language and I helped them getting their administrative papers processed.

In Morocco:

The American Language Center: Drama and Journalism clubs. I was an active member for 4 years.

The French Cultural Institute of Marrakec: Drama and Cinema Club. I was an active member for 6 years.

In both centers, I participated in and directed a number of plays. I was an assistant director of the drama Club at the French center. Being involved in the theatre clubs was a great opportunity to not only practice English and French but also develop my public speaking skills, projection and articulation.

In the United States: (At Western Kentucky University)

The Student Government Association, senator: I addressed the students’ issues to the committee. I was an active member for one year.

The International Club, activities coordinator: I would get international students together for parties, a cultural exhibition or presentation, trips to other cities and states. I participated in the international night and education week at WKU. I was an active member for four years.

The Latino Organization, officer: we used to get together once a month to discuss problems that the Hispanic community might have and do our best to help. I was an active member for 2 years.

The Spanish, The French and Arabic Clubs, vice president: I gave presentations to encourage students to study abroad and study languages, and I also invited Hispanic and Arab students, professors and locals to give presentations. I was an active member for 2 years.

La table Française: I used to practice French with my fellow students, and we discussed many French cultural aspects and history. I was an active member for 4 years.

Drama: I was featured in a number of theatrical productions in the countries of Morocco and Spain.
