Title: Smart Infusion Pump

Role: Project Manager

Objective: The smart infusion pump is used to deliver medication or nutrients to the patient intravenously. It is designed to have continuous infusion (micro) and intermittent infusion (macro), the flow of which is then monitored by placing a flow sensor unit. The medications/nutrients are delivered to the patient using a stepper motor for micro infusion and a DC motor for macro infusion. The speed of the motors is controlled by the microcontroller. The feedback of the flow sensor unit helps to control the speed of the motor and monitor the amount of fluid being. This closed loop system then can detect various errors with regards to the amount of fluid being injected and eliminate any error The other peripherals such as bubble sensor and alarm unit connected to the microcontroller to alert the used and a key and LCD are used as user interface.

Project: Software Digital Filters

Created a GUI application in MATLAB that designs various Digital filters and generate a C file that can be used with HCS12 microcontroller to get a software filter. The generated C file contains program in Embedded C which is modified by the MATLAB program according to the type of filter being designed, its impulse response values, filter order and sampling frequency. The C program is then complied on to a HCS12 Microcontroller using the code warrior (IDE) to get the desired filter output.
