DIRECTOR OF PMO

Product Development / PMO / Process Development / Turnarounds / SDLC

Testing & Integration / Compliance / IT & IS / ERP / Six Sigma / GMP / ISO-9001

Combining applications engineering leadership with operations knowledge, I helped turn around clients and employers with daunting challenges. Working in broad industries, including medical devices, automated equipment and alternative fuels manufacturing, I saved and made money, creating efficiencies and customer-centric solutions.

My specialty is transforming chaotic situations into manageable and even profitable outcomes by streamlining processes and building relationships. Aligning programs and projects with corporate objectives, I successfully balanced employer and customer needs for firms such as John Deere and Caterpillar. My skills also include:

 Introducing new project management methodologies, improving quality, cost and delivery metrics

 Leading strategic initiatives to successful completion, delivering on time and within budget

 Managing business, vendor and customer relationships

 Communicating business and technical requirements to cross-functional teams

 Building and leading teams to meet increasingly demanding objectives

I earned my BS in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and have PMP certification from PMI. Also, I am a Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) and expect my Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt in 2011. I possess a solid balance of hard and soft skills, and effectively communicate technical matters to non-technical audiences.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Created strategic prioritization plan. Once on board, realized ICM needed cost-effective method to prioritize customer projects. Determined prioritization based on weighted scale, including ROI and alignment with company goals. Improved customer satisfaction rating 35%.

Developed sales tools. Quote time for ICM customers seeking spare parts was excessive, causing lost income. Designed ERP module to include only relevant customer data for phone reps to view, and created e-commerce option. Reduced phone order quotes from three days to minutes, and doubled web sales to $6M/yr.

Positioned company for growth. Hired by KeyCentrix to develop new product to replace legacy pharmacy management system it offered. Led team that created new-generation system using current object-oriented design techniques and development technology (C#, XML, XSTL, and SQL). Application spurred $2.5M in new sales.

Saved John Deere account. Brought on by Weyforth to help repair client relationship with John Deere and quickly determined accountability needed to be established. Immediately documented project requirements and design. Secured client approval, and set policies and procedures for changes. Promoted within nine months.

Solved critical regulatory compliance issue. Selected by Nellcor to remedy a non-compliance finding by the FDA. Quickly determined that the methodology was extremely inefficient and cumbersome. Rewrote the development methodology based on FDA and ISO 9001 requirements and standard was adopted throughout firm.

Enhanced Nellcor’s Test Engineering. Circumvented $250K in expenses through improvements to manufacturing processes, waste reduction, and manufacturing times. Ensured GMP and ISO 9001 compliance, reduced documentation by 60%, and cut development time by 50%, reengineering the development methodology.
