EXPERIENCE:
BDS Technologies, Inc., Dallas, TX. 10/1999 to 09/2001 & 05/2003 to 05/2012
Title: Project Manager/ Design Engineer
• Managed and designed over 10,000 linear feet of roadway and alley pavement projects for the City of Dallas Public Works. These projects involved grading and profiling of the pavements, storm drainage analysis and drainage designs of over 3,000 linear feet of 18”- 42” storm sewer pipes. These projects also involved the preparation of the construction documents.
• Managed and designed utility improvement projects for the City of Dallas Water Utilities, City of Fort Worth and City of Plano, involving 35,000 Lf of 8”-27” water lines and 22,000 Lf of 8”-24” Wastewater. These projects also involved the preparation of the design reports and construction documents.
• Managed and designed the Turtle Creek Capture Pilot program. This was a pilot program which involved the installation of stormwater interceptors within the City of Dallas, to treat the turtle creek by drastically “arresting” debris and other pollution before discharging into the creek. The processes performed included determining suitable locations for the interceptors, stormwater interceptor sizing analysis, drainage area runoff analysis and the preparation of the construction documents. Also supervised the installation of the interceptors.
• Managed and designed site improvement projects for Dallas ISD schools. These projects included civil designs for 21 bond programs and a Maria Luna Kitchen Facility project. The kitchen project is unique because it involved demolition of existing street pavements, buildings and utilities. It also involved site grading/paving, parking lot design, utilities (including water, wastewater, drainage improvement, underground electrical duct banks, off-site and on-site storm drainage analysis and the preparation of Erosion Control plans and SWPPP plans. Other site development projects included the LA Fitness development in Hurst, Texas, the Zalcon Center, City of Rowlett, Texas and the Multicultural Center in Irving, Texas.
• Managed and designed wetland projects for the Wetland Reserve Program for US Department of Agriculture-Natural Resource Conservation Service. This project involved wetland designs for 14 locations covering over 850 acres of land. It involved grading of the land segments, design of earthen dikes and water control structures. Also included were the hydraulic design and analysis of the earthen auxiliary spillways at the ends of the dikes. Also designed was the Pavaho wetland project for the City of Dallas Public works. The project covered about 100 acres of land and it involved grading of the wetlands and design of the spillways.
