Auto-Owners Insurance is a US based Fortune 500 Insurance Company. Hyperion applications were implemented for profitability and financial analysis. The Project “AUTOSALE” is a three phase process that includes four applications consolidating to P&L cube. We used Planning, Essbase and Essbase studio for building both ASO and BSO applications.

Responsibilities:

• As a Hyperion Administrator involved in Installation, Configuration and Overall Maintenance of Oracle EPM 11.1.1.3, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Management, Workspace, Shared Services, Financial Reporting and Web Analysis, HFM and Smart View.

• Involved in maintaining existing Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 Environments.

• Created Outline loader utility introduced in 11.1.1.3 to load data from PeopleSoft to Planning and dimension building.

This project was completed in three phase including migration from 9x to 11x. The applications developed in this project include, Workforce budgeting, Revenue & Expense budgeting and forecasting, five year Revenue modeling, Reporting cube with ASO partitioning and Sales/customer application. The main challenges faced in this project are the complex structures of reporting, huge bulks of data and lot of performance tuning.

The project included the design and development of new Essbase cubes for Corporate Reporting Framework. In addition, the role involved the design and development of 100 reports, creating Books, scheduling batches using Hyperion Reports connected to HFM and HP.

• Designed and developed new Essbase cubes using Aggregate Storage (ASO) and Block Storage (BSO) cube.

• Involved in automation of the cube build through MaxL/Shell scripts and scheduler.

Data from various online transaction processing (OLTP) applications and other sources is selectively extracted, transformed and loaded into the Oracle data warehouse using PL/SQL. Then the transformed data from data warehouse is loaded into Hyperion Essbase OLAP server to provide Business Intelligence Analysis Services.
