PROJECT:

Substation Protection Design

Used SKM software to make/design the one-line diagram of the plant

Entered the device data and did the load flow analysis

After doing the load flow analysis, selected the Current Transformers according to the current rating

Protection scheme was decided according to the NEC standard

• Relays, fuses and circuit breakers were selected for the protection of Motors, Generators, Transformer, Feeders

• Differential protection was used for protection of transformers

• Overload protection of motors

• Over current protection of feeders and generators

After selecting the relays, the TCC (time current characteristics) curves were obtained using SKM software

SKM software was used to co-ordinate the TCC curves to prevent the false-tripping

Co-ordination was done from downstream to upstream devices i.e. from load to the generator
