As a Project Coordinator for Rio Tinto, my duties included pre-qualification, contract negotiation, and daily oversite of geophysical, helicopter support and drilling contractors. I was responsible for contractor HSEC compliance and training. I was also involved in the processing, revision, and archiving of the geophysical data.
1/07 – 4/08 Geophysical Consultant
I was a self employed consultant to geophysical contracting and small mining companies on ground geophysical programs. I designed surveys, supervised field personnel, and processed and presented data for exploration programs looking for gold and base metals. Methods included ground magnetics, induced polarization and gravity surveys.

I was the Operations Manager for Quantec Geoscience Limited. I was responsible for the day to day operations of the offices located in Antofagasta, Chile and Arequipa, Peru. Quantec Geoscience is a worldwide geophysical contracting company that serves the mining and mineral exploration industries in finding and delineating mineral reserves. As Operations Manager, I was responsible for:

4/90 – 12/01 Geophysics Supervisor WMC Exploration Division
My primary role in Western Mining Corporation was the supervision of crews collecting geophysical data in remote locations. This involved logistical planning, crew training, quality control, safety management, instrument repair and maintenance, public and community relations, and maintaining environmental standards. I was also responsible for all data collection, processing, and presentation. I supervised two in-house crews in addition to contractors. I was primarily responsible for ground geophysics, but I was also heavily involved in geochemistry and airborne geophysics. I supervised projects in Africa, Australia, the Philippines, Canada, USA, Argentina, Peru, and Chile. The methods where I gained the most experience were:
• Gravity – using real time and post processed GPS for survey control
• TEM – using Zonge, Sirotem, and Smartem instruments
• IP & CSAMT- using Zonge and Iris instruments
• Magnetotellurics – using Reftek instrumentation
• Magnetics and VLF – using various instruments such as GEM, Scintrex, and Geometrics
I am an experienced user of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Geosoft Montaj, ArcGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, EM Vision, Trimble Geomatics Office, and several other software packages.
