DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Licensed/Registered Nurse: A. Obtains consents for disclosure of pertinent personal, social and health information and performs detailed assessment to patients/residents on admission. B. Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team in relation to the patient/resident’s well-being. C. Performs patient assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and/or procedures consistent with the scope of Nursing Practice such as: administration of oral and parenteral medications as ordered by a physician, skin assessment and wound care, NGT insertion, urinary catheterization, intravenous cannulation, colostomy care, PEG tube feeding and care, care for pt. on Patient Controlled Analgesia, and care for pt. on Total Parenteral Nutrition, care and maintenance of PICC/Mid lines, care for patients on WoundVac and other direct and indirect patient care that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients/residents. D. Monitors vital signs, observation and documentation, focusing on any change in level of consciousness, physical, mental, and behavioral condition and reporting to MD’s when significant change is found. E. Carry out Dr’s order/s. F. Responsible in calling for CODE Blue or immediate transfer of a patient to an Emergency facility in the event of acute deterioration of condition. G. Initiates resuscitative measures during arrest, if indicated. H. Requisition, storage, and documentation of medications and regulated drugs/narcotics. I. Charting of each patient’s day to day health development and documentation of treatment regimen.
Respiratory Therapy Nurse: A. Assessment and Care of patients in tracheostomy and ventilator or aerosol mist. B. Care and maintenance of tracheostomy, ventilators, and aerosol mist systems. C. PRN suctioning of patients and administration of breathing treatments, as ordered. D. Responsible in changing tracheostomy tubes and cannulas and in-line suctioning system. E. Initiates resuscitative measures during arrest, if indicated.
Wound Care Nurse: Evaluates patients’ skin and provides preventative care and treatment for different types of wounds, including pressure ulcers, surgical incisions, wounds caused by injury or infection and stomas and educating patients about proper care of wounds.
Home Health Nurse/Case Manager:
Cares for permanently or temporarily homebound patients:
Thorough evaluation of the client's condition in order to determine his or her specific needs.
Supervises and oversees home health aide staff and assigns the type of care to be given in the nurse's absence.
Administer treatments prescribed to the patient by doctors
Makes suggestions and teaches/instructs the patient how to perform self-care in the absence of health care professionals.
Acts as liaison between the physician and the patient. Communicates the progress of the patient to the doctor and relays the doctor's instructions back to the patient.
Care Manager: A. Provides individualized care to residents with difficulties in their ADL’s resulting from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and physical fragility. B. Ensures safety, protection, comfort, and personal hygiene of residents. C. Assesses skin integrity and prevents breakdown. D. Calls for immediate transfer of a resident (911) in case of a significant acute change or deterioration of condition.
OPD/ER Staff Nurse, Fiji Islands: A. Performs detailed assessment of patients presented to the ER. B. Assist the Dr. in examining and/or performing emergency procedures and interventions to patients. C. Performs dependent and independent procedures under the scope of nursing practice. D. Performs emergency procedures under the direct order and supervision of a Dr. such as suturing simple and uncomplicated wounds, casting simple and uncomplicated fractures, and emergency endotracheal intubations. E. Initiation of CPR and defibrillation as indicated in the event of cardiac/respiratory arrests. F. Collects specimen for investigation and follows up results. G. Admits patients and administers initial medications as ordered by admitting Dr. H. Orients and trains newly graduated nurses assigned in the OPD/ER. I. Requisition, storage, and documentation of emergency drugs and narcotics, Maintenance and care of ER equipments.
Ambulance Nurse/Paramedic, Philippines: A. Responds to calls involving traumatic and medical emergencies. B. Provides first aid or resuscitative measures to critically injured victims on the spot or en-route to an emergency facility and initiates CPR in the event of arrest. C. Assesses mechanism of injury in a traumatic accident. D. Triages and assigns priority of care in cases of multiple casualty incidents. E. Collaborates with other rescue agencies and authorized agents in relation to victims and incidents. F. Responsible for detailed reporting to receiving emergency facility. G.
