Data collecting through use of various software; i.e. DAS (data aquisition software), FBRM (Focused beam reflective measurement), as well as others, for verification of radioactive 2 phase flow (various solids and liquids). All used for design verification of proposed mixing and batch transfers from the Hanford Tank Farms to the Waste Treatment Plant.

Certified Nuclear Chemical Operator/Nuclear Waste Process Operator, CH2 M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. & East Tennessee Materials and Energy Corp., Hanford, WA

Essential functions include the retrieval, handling, packaging, storage, and shipping of Transuranic (TRU) and low level (mixed) nuclear and/or chemical waste at the Hanford (Class II) Nuclear Reservation. Duties also include conducting surveillance, driving forklifts, field sampling, as well as decontamination of personnel, equipment, and various materials. This position supports management by providing advice on various processes, equipment, upgrading of projects, investigate, analyze, and apply solutions to operating problems, as well as operating essential systems such as Gamma Assay, PAN assay, and DART venting of suspect TRU waste containers. Guidance is provided to designers, fabricators, engineers, and craft personnel regarding plant and site specific equipment applications. All while adhering to U.S. Department of Energy, OSHA, NIOSH, Wa. Dept. of Ecology, Wa. Dept. of Transportation, and U.S. Department of Defense procedures, rules, regulations and Technical Safety Requirements.

2008-2009

Nuclear Laborer, Williams Plant Services/Columbia Generating Station, Richland, WA

R-19 Refueling Outage foreman responsible for running a crew of 8 other union laborers, with work both in and outside the plant. These duties included but were not limited to project management for each shift, ensuring safety for all workers with the use of proper PPE as well as through proper safety and plant procedures needed to get the job done safely, quickly and under budget. Other duties included many construction projects inside the plant, building scaffolds in almost every area, as well as numerous hours doing work in the dry-well. I also supported the Lampson Triple 6 crane activities during the re-siding of the Reactor Building; including set-up and break-down of crane as well as rigging various equipment and materials to be transferred. Also, removal of bird nests which involved hoisting approximately 250 ft. in the air working out of man basket. Other duties included building, scaffolding, digging trenches, pouring concrete, setting up mobiles offices for Nuclear Outage stations as well as other general labor responsibilities.

Duties included collection and testing of soils, asphalt and concrete samples from various construction sites. Lab tests were conducted using the most current ASTM and DOT methods and standards including Atterburg test, Proctors, Rice value, Sieve analysis, cleanliness, Fractured face, air/slump tests, as well as many other tests used to evaluate the quality of materials being used and making sure it was the correct material for the job in which the client ordered. Also, a nuclear density gauge was used in the field to determine the compaction and/or water/oil content of soils and asphalt.
